READY TO TAKE A CHANCE AGAIN (FOUL PLAY, 1978)

"What do you say to a bottle of wine and a couple of steaks?"
- Tony Carlson
"Well, you could start by saying, 'Hello'."
- Gloria Mundy

Foul Play is an entertaining comedy caper that stars Goldie Hawn and Chevy Chase at one of their best. Chase plays Detective Tony Carlson who swept Gloria's (Hawn) feet off when she stumbled upon a mysterious microfilm cassette tape left to her by a dying man that eventually gets her into numeous trouble. Barry Manilow lends his voice for the film's theme that was heard during the opening and closing credits. The song Ready To Take A Chance Again was nominated at the Oscars.

READY TO TAKE A CHANCE AGAIN
sung by: Barry Manilow

You remind me I live in a shell
Safe from the past and doin’ okay
But not very well
No jokes, no surprises
No crises arises
My life goes along as it should
It’s all very nice but not very good

And I’m ready to take a chance again
Ready to put my love on the line with you
Been livin’ with nothin’ to show for it
You get what you get when you go for it
And I’m ready to take a chance again with you

When she left me in all my despair
I just held on my hopes were all gone
Then I found you there

And I’m ready to take a chance again
Ready to put my love on the line with you
Been livin’ with nothin’ to show for it
You get what you get when you go for it

And I’m ready to take a chance again
Ready to put my love on the line with you
Been livin’ with nothin’ to show for it
You get what you get when you go for it
And I’m ready to take a chance again with you

  1. Thanks for putting this out there - I was going crazy trying to remember the movie. I'm pretty sure, though, that it is "... no JOLTS no surprises, no CRISIS arises..."
