SPEAK SOFTLY LOVE (THE GODFATHER, 1972)

“You talk about vengeance. Is vengeance going to bring your son back to you? Or my boy to me?”
– Don Vito Corleone

One of the best films ever made, The Godfather is a tour-de-force in all levels. Based on the novel by Mario Puzo, it's the story of the infamous Corleone Clan. The haunting score simply called The Godfather theme has become famous with a standalone title as Speak Softly Love sung by Andy Williams. The theme has been covered by numerous artists as well.

SPEAK SOFTLY LOVE
sung by: Andy Williams

Speak softly, love and hold me warm against your heart

I feel your words, the tender trembling moments start
We're in a world, our very own
Sharing a love that only few have ever known

Wine-colored days warmed by the sun
Deep velvet nights when we are one

Speak softly, love so no one hears us but the sky
The vows of love we make will live until we die
My life is yours and all because
You came into my world with love so softly love

(INSTRUMENTAL)

Wine-colored days warmed by the sun
Deep velvet nights when we are one

Speak softly, love so no one hears us but the sky
The vows of love we make will live until we die
My life is yours and all because
You came into my world with love so softly love
