NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN (NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN, 1983)

One good thing aside from non-stop action and endless skirt-chasing of the famous 007 James Bond is the theme that goes along with every movie. In the '80s, Lani Hall sang one of her signature song. A sultry theme, no less. Never Say, Never Again stars Sean Connery and Kim Basinger in one of her earliest movie roles.

NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN

sung by: Lani Hall

You walk in a room

A woman can feel the heat

One look is a guarantee

Nights could be long and sweet

The message is clear

Like nothing I’ve ever known

But the more that I hear

Forget about long-range plans

'Cause this man’s got his own

To get mixed up with a man who says never

Maybe big trouble but then

I just could be the woman to take you

And make you never say never again

Never, never say never again

Never, never say never again
Never, never say never again
Never, never say never again

You’ve got all the moves

Ah, but baby I’ve got them too

No matter your attitude or your mood

I’ll come through

The touch of your voice

The feel of your eyes on me

You leave me no choice

Though I know there’s danger there

I don’t care let it be

To get it bad with a man who says never

May have no future but then

I just could be the woman to reach you

And teach you to never say never again

I’ll beg you

I’ll get you

I’ll reach you

I’ll teach you

I’ll take you

I’ll make you

MY SWEET, ETERNAL LOVE (THE MUMMY TOMB OF THE DRAGON EMPEROR, 2008)

The third installment of The Mummy series is easily the weakest entry. Subtitled Tomb Of The Dragon Emperor, the story has an ancient chinese emperor (Jet Li) cursed by a witch and came back as (what else) mummy to wreak havoc in the life of Rick O'Connell (Brendan Fraser) and his family. A single scene stood out when the song My Sweet, Eternal Love sang by Helen Feng was heard during the bar scene.

MY SWEET, ETERNAL LOVE

sung by: Helen Feng

Before you, my life was so secure

Without allure and far too sure

Into my lap you fell

Like an angel straight from hell

You came into my world as a sweet surprise

In my eyes you have no disguise

In your arms I lost paradise

My sweet, Eternal love

My sweet, Infernal love

My sweet, Eternal love

Your touch scorched me with luscious fire

And the strange desire

To possess your soul entire

But your heart made mine alive

My sweet, Infernal love

My sweet, Eternal love

My sweet, Infernal love

Now we told ourselves to forget the past

The reach should not exceed the grasp

And nothing true can ever last

Except our words of pain and our hearts of lust

My sweet, Eternal love

My sweet, Infernal love

My Eternal, Infernal love

HOIST THE COLOURS (PIRATES OF THE CARRIBEAN AT WORLD'S END, 2007)

The third and last entry in The Pirates Of The Carribean saga (until the not so recent news of the fourth entry) is so-called the ultimate adventure of Jack Sparrow in the High Seas taking along for the ride Captain Barbossa, Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann.

HOIST THE COLOURS

Yo ho, haul together

Hoist the colours high

Heave ho

Thieves and beggars

Never shall we die

The king and his men

Stole the queen from her bed

And bound her in her bones

The seas be ours

And by the powers

Where we will we’ll roam

Yo ho, haul together

Hoist the colours high

Heave ho
Thieves and beggars

Never shall we die

Some men have died

And some are alive

And others sail on the sea

With the keys to the cage

And the devil to pay

We lay to Fiddler’s Green

The bell has been raised

From its watery grave

Do you hear it’s sepulchral tone?

We are a call to all

Pay head the squall

And turn your sail toward home

Yo ho, haul together

Hoist the colours high

Heave ho

Thieves and beggars

Never shall we die

FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE (FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE, 1963)

Quintessential crooner Matt Monro sang the theme from 1963's James Bond film, From Russia With Love. Sean Connery's second turn to play the iconic 007 Agent James Bond is on the hunt for Lektor, a Russian decoding machine.

FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE

sung by: Matt Monro

From Russia with love, I fly to you

Much wiser since my goodbye to you

I’ve traveled the world to learn

I must return from Russia with love

I’ve seen places, faces and smiled for a moment

But oh, you haunted me so

Still my tongue tied, young pride

Would not let my love for you show

In case you’d say no

To Russia I flew but there and then

I suddenly knew you’d care again

My running around is through

I fly to you, from Russia with love

DIE ANOTHER DAY (DIE ANOTHER DAY, 2002)

Pop Icon Madonna was tasked to sang the theme of Pierce Brosnan's last foray as Agent 007 in Die Another Day. Madonna herself appeared in the film as Verity, a fencing instructor.

DIE ANOTHER DAY

sung by: Madonna

I’m gonna wake up, yes and no

I’m gonna kiss some part of

I’m gonna keep this secret

I’m gonna close my body now

I guess, die another day

I guess, die another day

I guess, die another day

I guess, die another day

I guess I’ll die another day

(Another day)

I guess I’ll die another day

(Another day)

I guess I’ll die another day

(Another day)

I guess I’ll die another day

Sigmund Freud

Analyze this

Analyze this

Analyze this

I’m gonna break the cycle

I’m gonna shake up the system

I’m gonna destroy my ego

I’m gonna close my body now

Uh, uh

I think I’ll find another way

There’s so much more to know

I guess I’ll die another day

It’s not my time to go

For every sin, I’ll have to pay

I’ve come to work, I’ve come to play

I think I’ll find another way

It’s not my time to go

I’m gonna avoid the cliche

I’m gonna suspend my senses

I’m gonna delay my pleasure

I’m gonna close my body now

I guess, die another day

I guess I’ll die another day

I guess, die another day

I guess I’ll die another day

I think I’ll find another way

There’s so much more to know

I guess I’ll die another day

It’s not my time to go

Uh, uh

I guess, die another day

I guess I’ll die another day

I guess, die another day

I guess I’ll die another day

Another day

Another day

Another day

Another day

Another day

Another day

Another day

ALL TIME HIGH (OCTOPUSSY, 1983)

Roger Moore's starrer as the famous Agent 007 in Octopussy gets a chic movie theme via Rita Coolidge's wonderful rendition of All Time High. In the movie, Bond's on the mission to stop jewel smugglers and possible nuclear attacks on NATO. Pure Bond style.

ALL TIME HIGH
sung by: Rita Coolidge

All I wanted was a sweet distraction for an hour or two
Had no intention to do the things we’ve done
Funny how it always goes with love, when you don’t look, you find
But then we’re two of a kind, we move as one

We’re an all time high
We’ll change all that’s gone before
Doing so much more than falling in love
On an all time high
We’ll take on the world and wait
So hold on tight, let the flight begin

I don’t want to waste a waking moment; I don’t want to sleep
I’m in so strong and so deep, and so are you
In my time I’ve said these words before, but now I realize
My heart was telling me lies, for you they’re true

We’re an all time high
We’ll change all that’s gone before
Doing so much more than falling in love
On an all time high
We’ll take on the world and wait
So hold on tight, let the flight begin
So hold on tight, let the flight begin
We’re an all time high
