LOLLIPOP (STAND BY ME, 1986)

Stand By Me, based on the novella The Body by Stephen King stood the test of time as one of the most memorable and well-made coming-of-age drama. A writer (Richard Dreyfuss) recounts the days of his childhood and his friends during the fateful day they found a dead boy's body. All of the great oldies accompanies the film and one of the songs featured in the soundtrack was The Chordettes' fun Lollipop.

LOLLIPOP
sung by: The Chordettes

Lollipop lollipop

Oh lolli lolli lolli

Lollipop lollipop.....

Call my baby lollipop

Tell you why

His kiss is sweeter than an apple pie

And when he does his shaky rockin' dance

Man, I haven't got a chance

I call him

Lollipop lollipop

Oh lolli lolli lolli

Lollipop lollipop.....

Sweeter than candy on a stick

Huckleberry, chimry or lime

If you had a choice

He'd be your pick

But lollipop is mine

Lollipop lollipop

Oh lolli lolli lolli

Lollipop lollipop.....

Crazy way he thrills me

Tell you why

Just like a lightning from the sky

He loves to kiss me till I can't see straight

GEE, MY LOLLIPOP IS GREAT

I call him

Lollipop lollipop

Oh lolli lolli lolli

Lollipop lollipop...

STAND BY ME (STAND BY ME, 1986)

“I was 12 going on 13 the first time I saw a dead human being. It happened in the summer of 1959-a long time ago, but only if you measure in terms of years. I was living in a small town in Oregon called Castle Rock. There were only twelve hundred and eighty-one people. But to me, it was the whole world.” – The writer

Based on the novella The Body by horrormeister Stephen King, the story is about the childhood of four young boys who share the same secret, that of discovering a dead boy on a train track. Instead of King concocted another terror-filled story, he opted to write one of the most heartfelt tribute to the wonder of camaraderie amidst tragedy between friends. Although the song was not written for the movie, Stand By Me is in itself become one of the most famous and well-loved theme from the movie. Ben E. King sung the ‘iconic’ song about friendship.

STAND BY ME
sung by: Ben E. King

When the night has come, and the land is dark

And the moon is the only light we will see
No, I won't be afraid, oh, I won't be afraid
Just as long as you stand, stand by me

So darlin', darlin' stand by me
Oh stand by me
Oh stand, stand by me, stand by me

If the sky that we look upon should tumble and fall
Or the mountain should crumble to the sea
I won't cry, I won't cry, no, I won't shed a tear
Just as long as you stand, stand by me

And darlin', darlin' stand by me
Oh stand by me
Whoa stand now, stand by me, stand by me
And darlin', darlin' stand by me
Oh stand by me
Oh stand now, stand by me, stand by me

If the sky that we look upon should tumble and fall
Or the mountain should crumble to the sea
I won't cry, I won't cry, no, I won't shed a tear
Just as long as you stand, stand by me

And darlin', darlin' stand by me
Oh stand by me
Whoa stand now, stand by me, stand by me
So darlin', darlin' stand by me
Oh stand by me
Oh stand now, stand by me, stand by me

Whenever you're in trouble won't you stand by me
Oh stand by me
Whoa stand now, oh stand
Stand by me...
