SPEED (SPEED, 1994)

Definitely, Speed is one of the best action flicks that came in the '90s and has been often included in the list for the said category. Keannu Reeves and then less known Sandra Bullock stars in the edge-of-your-seat thriller. '80s rock icon Billy Idol sang the titular theme, Speed.

SPEED
sung by: Billy Idol

Running from the nightmare

In the middle of the road

Hell's no place for sleeping

In a world beyond control

Caught up in the headlights

Coming after you

When I woke up this morning

I had to do what I gotta do

Blast me to heaven for loving you

Blast me to heaven for loving you

Speed

Give me what I need

Yeah!

White lightning

Let's speed, on speed

On wheels, on wheels

Speed

Oh, let it bleed

Yeah!

Greased lightning

Let's speed, on speed

On wheels, on wheels

I've seen a train full of pain

On the edge of overload

We're in heaven, baby

You are gonna implode

I've got these crazy feelings

That I can't explain

I've got to save you baby

Or I'll die in vain

Blast me to heaven for loving you

I said blast me to heaven just for loving you

I said speed

Give me what I need

Yeah!

White lightning

Let's speed, on speed

On wheels, on wheels

Speed

Oh, let it bleed

Yeah!

Greased lightning

Let's speed, on speed

On wheels, on wheels

(INSTRUMENTAL)

Blast me to heaven for loving you

I said blast me to heaven for loving you

Now I'm rushing on the run, yeah

I wanna have me some fun

I'll speed

Give me what I need

Oh, set me free

Let's speed

On wheels, on wheels, on wheels

Said speed

Give me what I need

Yeah!

White lightning

Let's speed, on speed

On wheels, on wheels

Said speed

Oh, let it bleed

Yeah!

Greased lightning

Let's speed, on speed

On wheels, on wheels

Speed

Oh, let it bleed

Yeah!

White lightning

Let's speed, on speed

On wheels, on wheels

C'mon!

I said speed, speed

Give me what I need

I said speed, speed

Give me what I need

I said speed, speed

Give me what I need

Yeah!
Alright!

LITTLE WONDERS (MEET THE ROBINSONS, 2007)

Meet The Robinsons is Disney's another attempt at full-length CGI animation after the less stellar success of Chicken Little in 2005. This time, it's about a boy inventor who travels via time machine to track down the evil Bowler Hat Guy. Rob Thomas of the group Matchbox Twenty sang the wonderful song, Little Wonders.

LITTLE WONDERS
sung by: Rob Thomas

Let it go

Let it roll right off your shoulder

Don't you know

The hardest part is over

Let it in

Let your clarity define you

In the end

We will only just remember how it feels

Our lives are made

In these small hours

These little wonders

These twists and turns of fate

Time falls away

But these small hours

These small hours

Still remain

Let it slide

Let your troubles fall behind you

Let it shine

Till you feel it all around you

And I don't mind
If it's me you need to turn to

We'll get by

It's the heart that really matters in the end

Our lives are made

In these small hours

These little wonders

These twists and turns of fate

Time falls away

But these small hours

These small hours

Still remain

All of my regret

Will wash away somehow

But I cannot forget

The way I feel right now

In these small hours

These little wonders

These twists and turns of fate

Yeah, these twisted turns of fate

Time falls away

Yeah, but these small hours

These small hours

Still remain

Yeah, oh they still remain

These little wonders

All these twists and turns of fate

Time falls away

But these small hours

These little wonders

Still remain

LISTEN (DREAMGIRLS, 2006)

Though the film Dreamgirls is about a trio of women singers, the film clearly belongs to the Oscar-winning role of Jennifer Hudson. While Beyonce Knowles, the one-third of the singing group takes a tad backseat, she however shines in the scene when she sang Listen. The song that earned the reputation as part of the reportoire in any musical contest. Listen, is all Beyonce.

LISTEN
sung by: Beyonce Knowles

Listen

To the song here in my heart

A melody I start

But can't complete

Listen, to the sound from deep within

It's only beginning

To find release

Oh, the time has come for my dreams to be heard

They will not be pushed aside and turned

Into your own all 'cause you won't

Listen

Listen

I am alone at a crossroads

I'm not at home, in my own home

And I've tried and tried

To say whats on my mind

You should have known

Oh

Now I'm done believin you

You don't know what I'm feelin

I'm more than what, you made of me

I followed the voice you gave to me

But now I gotta find, my own

You should have listened

There is someone here inside

Someone I'd thought had died

So long ago

Ohh I'm free now and my dreams'll be heard

They will not be pushed aside or worse

Into your own

All 'cause you won't

Listen

Listen

I am alone at a crossroads

I'm not at home, in my own home

And I've tried and tried

To say whats on my mind

You should have known

Oh

Now I'm done believin you

You don't know what I'm feelin

I'm more than what, you made of me

I followed the voiceyou gave to me

But now I gotta find, my own

I don't know where I belong

But I'll be movin on

If you don't

If you won'tListen

To the song here in my heart

A melody I start

But I will complete

Oh

Now I'm done believin' you

You dont know what I'm feelin'

I'm more than what, you made of me

I followed the voice, you think you gave to me

But now I gotta find, my own

My own

LET'S GET TOGETHER (THE PARENT TRAP, 1961)

The Parent Trap is one of Disney's well-made family film in the early '60s. Hayley Mills stars as identical twins who plan to reunite their estranged parents. Let's Get Together is perhaps the most famous song in the film. A 1998 remake was made also by Disney.

LET'S GET TOGETHER
sung by: Hayley Mills

Let's get together, yeah yeah yeah
Why don't you and I combine?
Let's get together, what do you say?
We can have a swinging time
We'd be a crazy team
Why don't we make a scene?
Together oh, oh, oh, oh

Let's get together, yeah yeah yeah
Think of all that we could share
Let's get together, everyday
Every way and everywhere
And though we haven't got a lot
We could be sharing all we've got
Together

Oh! I really think you're swell
Uh huh! We really ring the bell
Oo wee! And if you stick with me
Nothing could be greater, say hey alligator

Let's get together, yeah yeah yeah
Two is twice as nice as one
Let's get together, right away
We'll be having twice the fun
And you can always count on me
A gruesome twosome we will be
Together, yeah yeah yeah

IF YOU COULD SEE WHAT I HEAR (IF YOU COULD SEE WHAT I HEAR, 1982)

In the same year that he dons the Beastmaster role, Marc Singer also essays the character of Tom Sullivan, a real life blind singer. The title of the autobiographical film If You Could See What I Hear is also the title of one of Sullivan's songs. A very apt title theme.

IF YOU COULD SEE WHAT I HEAR

sung by: Tom Sullivan

I look at the world with my heart
I see things that no one can see
Day after day, in it’s own special way
Life sings a love song to me

If you could see what I hear
The sights and sounds of life are ringing in my ear
So close your eyes and I’ll take your hand
I’ll make you understand

If you could see what I hear
I’ll walk with the wind in the rain
There’s music wherever I go
Round every bend in the road there’s a friend
Waiting to tell me ‘hello’
Ohh...

If you could see what I hear
The sights and sounds of life are ringing in my ear
So close your eyes and I’ll take your hand
I’ll make you understand

If you could see what I hear
If you could see what I hear
The sights and sounds of life are ringing in my ear
So close your eyes and I’ll take your hand
I’ll make you understand

If you could see what I
If you could see what I
If you could see what I hear
If you could see what I hear

L O V E (THE PARENT TRAP, 1998)

L O V E is one of Nat King Cole's classic song and was often heard in romance-comedy-themed flicks. In the 1998 remake of the family classic, The Parent Trap used the famous song as heard during the opening credits.

L O V E
sung by: Nat King Cole

L is for the way you look at me

O is for the only one I see

V is very, very extraordinary

E is even more than anyone that you adore can

Love is all that I can give to you

Love is more than just a game for two

Two in love can make it

Take my heart and please don’t break it

Love was made for me and you

L is for the way you look at me

O is for the only one I see

V is very, very extraordinary

E is even more than anyone that you adore can

LET ME BE YOUR WINGS (THUMBELINA, 1994)

Crooner Barry Manilow (sang with Debra Byrd) the love theme of the 1994 Don Bluth production of Thumbelina, Let Me Be Your Wings. Though the animated flick received a lukewarm response from audiences, the song nevertheless ups the production's ante if only for a bit.

LET ME BE YOUR WINGS
sung by: Barry Manilow & Debra Byrd

Let me be your wings

Let me be your only love

Let me take you far beyond the stars

Let me be your wings

Let me lift you high above

Everything we’re dreaming of will soon be ours

Anything that you desire

Anything at all

Everyday I’ll take you higher

And I’ll never let you fall

Let me be your wings

Leave behind the world you know

For another world of wonderous things

We’ll see the universe and dance on Saturns’s rings

Fly with me and I will be your wings

Anything that you desire

Anything at all

Everyday I’ll take you higher

And I’ll never let you fall

(You will be my wings)

Let me be your wings

(You will be my only love)

Get ready for a world of wonderous things

(Wonderous things are sure to happen)

We’ll see the universe and dance on Saturn’s rings

Heaven isn’t too far

Heaven is where you are

Stay with me and let me be your wings

KING OF WISHFUL THINKING (PRETTY WOMAN, 1990)

Perhaps Pretty Woman is Julia Robert's most famous movie. No less than the 1990 film earned Roberts her first Oscar nomination for Best Actress (she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for Steel Magnolias). The now classic romantic comedy also boasts of great soundtrack. Go West sang one of the recognized and catchy songs in the film, King Of Wishful Thinking.

KING OF WISHFUL THINKING

sung by: Go West

I don’t need to fall at your feet
Just ‘cause you cut me to the bone
And I won’t miss the way that you kiss me
We were never carved in stone
If I don’t listen to the talk of the town
Then maybe I can fool myself

I’ll get over you, I know I will
I’ll pretend my ship’s not sinking
And I’ll tell myself I’m over you
‘Cause I’m the king of wishful thinking
I am the king of wishful thinking

I refuse to give in to my blues
That’s not how it’s going to be
And I deny the tears in my eyes
I don’t want to let you see, no
That you have made a hole in my heart
And now I’ve got to fool myself

I’ll get over you, I know I will
I’ll pretend my ship’s not sinking
And I’ll tell myself I’m over you
‘Cause I’m the king of wishful thinking

I’ll get over you, I know I will
I’ll pretend my ship’s not sinking
And I’ll tell myself I’m over you
‘Cause I’m the king of wishful thinking

I will never, never shed a tear for you
I’ll get over you
If I don’t listen to the talk of the town
Then maybe I can fool myself

I’ll get over you, I know I will
I’ll pretend my ship’s not sinking
And I’ll tell myself I’m over you
‘Cause I’m the king of wishful thinking

I’m the king of wishful thinking
I’ll get over you, I know I will
You made a hole in my heart
But I won’t shed a tear for you
I’ll be the king of wishful thinking

I’ll get over you
I’ll pretend my heart’s still beating
‘Cause I’ve got no more tears for you
I’m the king of wishful thinking

I’ll get over you, I know I will
You made a
hole in my heart
And I’ll tell myself I’m over you
‘Cause I’m the king of wishful thinking

KEEP HOLDING ON (ERAGON, 2006)

Eragon was based on a children's fantasy book of the same name by Christopher Paolini. The movie adaptation attempts to make an engaging family fantasy movie about a farm boy who discovers a dragon's egg but fails in almost all levels. The theme Keep Holding On sung by Avril Lavigne somehow makes the film worth watching.

KEEP HOLDING ON

sung by: Avril Lavigne

You’re not alone

Together we stand

I’ll be by your side, you know

I’ll take your hand

When it gets cold

And it feels like the end

There’s no place to go

You know I won’t give in

No, I won’t give in

Keep holding on

'Cause you know we’ll make it through, we’ll make it through

Just stay strong

'Cause you know I’m here for you, I’m here for you

There’s nothing you could say (nothing you could say)

Nothing you could do (nothing you could do)

There’s no other way when it comes to the truth

So keep holding on

'Cause you know we’ll make it through, we’ll make it through

So far away

I wish you were here

Before it’s too late, this could all disappear

Before the doors close

And it comes to an end

With you by my side I will fight and defend

I’ll fight and defend

Yeah, yeah

Keep holding on

'Cause you know we’ll make it through, we’ll make it through

Just stay strong

'Cause you know I’m here for you, I’m here for you

There’s nothing you could say (nothing you could say)

Nothing you could do (nothing you could do)

There’s no other way when it comes to the truth

So keep holding on

'Cause you know we’ll make it through, we’ll make it through

Hear me when I say, when I say I believe

Nothing’s gonna change, nothing’s gonna change destiny

Whatever’s meant to be will work out perfectly

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

La da da daLa da da da

La da da da da da da da da

Keep holding on

'Cause you know we’ll make it through, we’ll make it through

Just stay strong

'Cause you know I’m here for you, I’m here for you

There’s nothing you could say (nothing you could say)

Nothing you could do (nothing you could do)

There’s no other way when it comes to the truth

So keep holding on

'Cause you know we’ll make it through, we’ll make it through

Keep holding on

Keep holding on

There’s nothing you could say (nothing you could say)

Nothing you could do (nothing you could do)

There’s no other way when it comes to the truth

So keep holding on

'Cause you know we’ll make it through, we’ll make it through

JUST TELL ME YOU LOVE ME (JUST TELL ME YOU LOVE ME, 1980)

Just Tell Me You Love Me also goes by the name Maui as the film was set in the said titular place. Stars Lisa Hartman, of the successful tv series Knots Landing. The famous duo England Dan & John Ford Coley sang the theme of the movie. While the movie bomb big time, the song has stood the test of time.

JUST TELL ME YOU LOVE ME

sung by: England Dan & John Ford Coley

Many times, I wished you were here

Through the velvet shadows of my dreams

Many times, I wished you were near

Through the darkness as it came but it seems

That you, you never said what I needed to hear

Just tell me you love me

Whisper words I so long to hear

Let this time not be borrowed

Let it be ours to share

If you tell me you love me

It will lead the way to your heart

Through the mereness of silence

You love me

Quietly I’ve waited

For the memory born of our first kiss

Patiently, I’ve waited

For the moment you will take me to world

That I, I’ve never seen that world before

Just tell me you love me

Whisper words I so long to hear

Let this time not be borrowed

Let it be ours to share

If you tell me you love me

It will lead the way to your heart

Through the mereness of silence

You love meYou love me

JOY TO THE WORLD

sung by: Three Dog Night

Jeremiah was a bullfrog

Was a good friend of mine

I never understood a single word he said

But I helped him drink his wine

And he always had some mighty fine wine

Singin’

Joy to the world

All the boys and girls, now

Joy to the fishes in the deep blue sea

Joy to you and me

If I were the king of the world

Tell you what I’d do

I’d throw away the cars and the bars and the wars

And make sweet love to you

Said, make sweet love to you

Joy to the world

All the boys and girls

Joy to the fishes in the deep blue sea

Joy to you and me

(INSTRUMENTAL)

You know I love the ladies

I love to have my fun

I’m a high life flyer and a rainbow rider

A straight shootin’ son-of-a-gun

I said, a straight shootin’ son-of-a-gun

Singin’

Joy to the world

All the boys and girls now

Joy to the fishes in the deep blue sea

Joy to you and me

Joy to the world

All the boys and girls

Joy to the world

Joy to you and me

Joy to the world

All the boys and girls

Joy to the fishes in the deep blue sea

Joy to you and me

Joy to the world

All the boys and girls

Joy to the fishes in the deep blue sea

Joy to you and me

Jeepers Creepers is one of Louis Armstrong's famous songs and was used in the 1938 musical comedy Going Places. The film stars Dick Powell and Ronald Reagan. JEEPERS CREEPERS

sung by: Louis Armstrong

Jeepers, creepers....where’d ya get them peepers

Jeepers, creepers...where’d ya get those eyes

Gosh oh, git up....how’d they get so lit up

Gosh oh, gee oh....how’d they get that size

Golly gee...When you turn them heaters on

Woe is me...got to put my cheaters on

Jeepers, creepers....where’d ya get them peepers

Oh, those weepers....how they hypnotize

(INSTRUMENTAL)

Jeepers, creepers....where’d ya get them peepers

Oh, those weepers....how they hypnotize

Where did ya get those

JOURNEY TO THE PAST (ANASTASIA, 1997)

Singer Aaliyah sang one of her famous songs before her very untimely death, Journey To The Past. The theme was featured in the 1997 animated movie Anastasia, loosely based on the story of the last monarch's youngest daughter of Imperial Russia. The theme was nominated at the Oscars and Golden Globe for Best Original Song.

JOURNEY TO THE PAST

sung by: Aaliyah

Heart, don’t fail me now

Courage, don’t desert me

Don’t turn back now that we’re here

People always say

Life is full of choices

No one ever mentions fear

Or how the world can seem so vast

On a journey to the past

Somewhere down this road

I know someone’s waiting

Years of dreams just can’t be wrong

Arms will open wide

I’ll be safe and wanted

Finally home where I belong

Well, starting now I’m learning fast

On this journey to the past

Home, love, family

There was once a time I must have had them too

Home, love, family

I will never be complete until I find you

One step at a time

One hope then another

Who knows where this road may go?

Back to who I was

On to find my future

Things my heart still needs to know

Yes, let this be a sign!

Let this road be mine!

Let it lead me to my past!

And bring me home at last!

I'VE GOT YOU UNDER MY SKIN (BORN TO DANCE, 1936)

A very famous song, I've Got You Under My Skin was first heard in the 1936 musical, Born To Dance. Virginia Bruce sang the song and the music score was heard during the film. Eleanor Powell stars along with James Stewart in the fun musical film. Powell plays Nora, the girl who wants to become a broadway dancer while Stewart plays a nayman looking for love.

I’VE GOT YOU UNDER MY SKIN

sung by: Virginia Bruce

I’ve got you under my skin

I’ve got you deep in the heart of me

So deep in my heart that you’re really a part of me

I’ve got you under my skin

I’d tried so not to give in

I said to myself: this affair never will go so well

But why should I try to resist when, baby, I know so well

I’ve got you under my skin?

I’d sacrifice anything come what might

For the sake of havin’ you near

In spite of a warnin’ voice that comes in the night

And repeats, repeats in my ear

Don’t you know, little fool, you never can win?

Use your mentality, wake up to reality

But each time that I do just the thought of you

Makes me stop before I begin

'Cause I’ve got you under my skin

I’ve got you under my skin

I’ve got you deep in the heart of me

So deep in my heart that you’re really a part of me

I’ve got you under my skin
I’ve got you

I’ve got you under my skin

I’ve got you deep in the heart of me

So deep in my heart that you’re really a part of me

I’ve got you under my skin

IT’S NOT FOR ME TO SAY

sung by: Johnny Mathis

It’s not for me to say you love me

It’s not for me to say you’ll always care

Oh, but here for the moment, I can hold you fast

And press your lips to mine

And dream that love will last

As far as I can see, this is heaven

And speaking just for me, it’s ours to share

Perhaps the glow of love will grow

With ev’ry passing day

Or we may never meet again

But then, it’s not for me to say

(INSTRUMENTAL)

And speaking just for me, it’s ours to share

Perhaps the glow of love will grow

With ev’ry passing day

Or we may never meet again

IT'S MAGIC (ROMANCE ON THE HIGH SEAS, 1948)

The eternally wholesome Doris Day sang one of her signature songs It's Magic. Heard in the 1948 romantic comedy Romance In The High Seas, the film is about one Socialite's suspicion of her husband's infidelity. Comic ensues when the two party hires a detective to spy on each other. Bugs Bunny even sang 'his' own version in one of the episodes of Looney Tunes.

IT’S MAGIC
sung by: Doris Day

You sigh, a song begins

You speak and I hear violins

It’s magic

The stars desert the skies

And rush to nestle in your eyes

It’s magic

Without a golden wand

Or mystic charms

Fantastic things begin

When I am in your arms

When we walk hand in hand

The world becomes a wonderland

It’s magic

How else can I explain

Those rainbows when there is no rain

It’s magic

Why do I tell myself

These things that happen are all really true

When in my heart I know

The magic is my love for you

(INSTRUMENTAL)

It’s magic

Why do I tell myself

IT’S EASY TO SAY (10, 1979)

One of the rare duets in a movie happened in the comedy hit 10. Lead star Dudley Moore sang with Dame Julie Andrews on the piano and the result is It's Easy To Say. 10, the signature film of Bo Derek and famous for her iconic beach scene.

IT’S EASY TO SAY
sung by: Dudley Moore & Julie Andrews

It’s easy to say it’s over

It’s easy to say we’re the best of friends

You walk away and for a while

You try the summer of a younger smile

But the memory never ends

You could lose your mind

But then you’ll find

It’s easy to say I love you

There’s only one way to say I love you

You could search the years away

That old cliche is the first of May

To old or new love

It’s easy to say, easy as ABC

I love you, love you, love you....

(INSTRUMENTAL)

You could search the years away

That old cliche is the first of May

To old or new love

It’s easy to say, easy as ABC

I love you, love you, love you....

IT'S A LONG ROAD (FIRST BLOOD, 1982)

One of Sylvester 'The Sly' Stallone's signature films was the action-packed Rambo. The name Rambo has become so famous that it was later used as the title in sequels, but the first installment was only called First Blood. Dan Hill lent his voice to sing the soulful It's A Long Road.

IT’S A LONG ROAD
sung by: Dan Hill

It’s a long road

When you’re on your own

And it hurts when

They tear your dreams apart

And every new town

Just seems to bring you down

Trying to find peace of mind

Can break your heart

It’s a real war

Right outside your front door I tell ya

Out where they’ll kill ya

You could use a friend

Where the road is

That’s the place for me

Where I’m me in my own space

Where I’m free that’s the place

I wanna be

'Cause the road is long yeah

Each step is only the beginning

No breaks just heartaches

Oh man is anybody winning

It’s a long road

And it’s hard as hell

Tell me what do you do

To survive

When they draw first blood

That’s just the start of it

Day and night you gotta fight

To keep alive

It’s a real war

Right outside your front door I tell ya

Out where they’ll kill ya

You could use a friend

'Cause the road is long yeah

Each step is only the beginning

No breaks just heartaches

Oh man is anybody winning

The road is long yeah

Each step is only the beginning

No breaks just heartaches

Oh man is anybody winning

It’s a long road

It’s a long road

IT MIGHT AS WELL BE SPRING (STATE FAIR, 1945)

State Fair, a fun family movie. Frake Family heads to the Iowa for the State Fair and things become interesting as they each found possible mates. The song It Might As Well Be Spring was by Rodgers and Hammersteins II no less. The song won the Oscars for Best Original Song.

IT MIGHT AS WELL BE SPRING
sung by: Louanne Hogan

The things I used to like

I don’t like anymore

I want a lot of other things

I’ve never had before

It’s just like mother says

I sit around and mope

Pretending I am wonderful

And knowing I’m a dope

I’m as restless as a willow in a windstorm

I’m as jumpy as a puppet on a string

I’d say that I had spring fever

But I know it isn’t spring

I’m starry-eyed and vaguely discontented

Like a nightingale without a song to sing

Oh, why should I have spring fever

When it isn’t even spring?

I keep wishing I were somewhere else

Walking down a strange new street

Hearing words that I have never heard

From a man I’ve yet to meet

I’m as busy as a spider spinning daydreams

I’m as giddy as a baby on a swing

I haven’t seen a crocus or a rosebud
Or a robin on the wing

But I feel so gay in a melancholy way

That it might as well be spring

It might as well be spring

IT GOES LIKE IT GOES

sung by: Jennifer Warnes

Ain’t no miracle being born

People doin’ it everyday

Ain’t no miracle growin’ old

People just roll that way

So it goes like it goes

Like the river flows

And time it rolls right on

And maybe what’s good

Gets a little bit better

And maybe what’s bad gets gone

Bless the child of the workin’ man

She knows too soon who she is

And bless the hands of a workin’ man

He knows his soul is his

So it goes like it goes

Like the river flows

And time it rolls right on
And maybe what’s good
Gets a little bit better

And maybe what’s bad gets gone

Yeah, it goes like it goes

Like the river flows

And time keeps rollin’ on
And maybe what’s good

Gets a little bit better

And maybe what’s bad gets gone

INVINCIBLE

sung by: Pat Benatar

This bloody road remains a mystery

This sudden darkness fills the air

What are we waiting for?

Won’t anybody help us?

What are we waiting for?

We can’t afford to be innocent

Stand up and face the enemy

It’s a do or die situation

We will be invincible

This shattered dream you cannot justify

We’re gonna scream until we’re satisfied

What are we running for?

We’ve got the right to be angry

What are we running for?

When there’s no where we can run to anymore

We can’t afford to be innocent

Stand up and face the enemy

It’s a do or die situation

We will be invincible

And with the power of conviction

There is no sacrifice

It’s a do or die situation

We will be invincible

Won’t anybody help us?

What are we running for?

When there’s no where, no where we can run to anymore

We can’t afford to be innocent

Stand up and face the enemy

It’s a do or die situation

We will be invincible

And with the power of conviction

There is no sacrifice

It’s a do or die situation

We will be invincible

Yeah…ooohhh…yeah…

IN THE CITY (THE WARRIORS, 1979)

The Warriors is the story of gangs in the seedy part of New York. American singer Joe Walsh sang the aptly theme titled In The City, where the gang a.k.a. The Warriors rule. The song were later recorded by Eagles.

IN THE CITY

sung by: Joe Walsh

Somewhere out on that horizon

Out beyond the neon lights

I know there must be somethin’ better

But there’s nowhere else in sight

It’s survival in the city

When you live from day to day

City streets don’t have much pity

When you’re down, that’s where you’ll stay

In the city, oh, oh

In the city, oh, oh

I was born here in the city

With my back against the wall

Nothing grows and life ain’t very pretty

No one’s there to catch you when you fall

Somewhere out on that horizon

Far away from the neon sky
I know there must be somethin’ better

And I can’t stay another night

In the city, oh, oh

In the city, oh, oh
In the city, oh, oh…

I'LL BE THERE (GROSS ANATOMY, 1989)

Starship, one of '80s well-known rock group sang the theme I'll Be There from the medical drama, Gross Anatomy. Matthew Modine and Daphne Zuniga leads the cast as med students. The title refers to 'human dissection'.

I’LL BE THERE
sung by: Starship

People need their reasons

Reasons to live and reasons to die

Just something to believe in

Whatever it takes to get through the night

When the road just leads to nowhere

And your faith can’t follow through

I’ll be there for you, I’ll be there for you

Black is black and white is white
And the blues are sometimes gray

When you hurt and you don’t know why

And your tears won’t go away

There’s a rainbow out there somewhere

And one thing is always true

I’ll be there for you, I’ll be there for you

I’ll be there for you, when hope seems thin and your chances are few

I’ll be there for you, I’ll share the pain and be someone to hold

And there’s so much more I can do, I’ll be there for you

We could talk forever

There’s reasons to stay and reasons to go

But while we’re here together

I might as well make my intentions known

There’s a light that shines in my window

It’s a place you can run back to

And I’ll be there for you, I’ll be there for you

I’ll be there for you, when hope seems thin and your chances are few

I’ll be there for you, when the outside world turns your inside cold

And no one will tell you the truth, I’ll be there for you

And if the day should come in this lifetime (I will be there)

I hope one mornin’ you’ll wake up to find

Anyone with half a heart could see, we might cross this great divide

(GUITAR SOLO)

When the road just leads to nowhere

And faith can’t follow through

I’ll be there for you, I’ll be there for you (yeah!)

I’ll be there for you, when hope seems thin and your chances are few

I’ll be there for you, I’ll share the pain and be someone to hold

There’s so much more I can do, so much more

Baby I’ll be there for you

Yes I will, you know that I will be there for you

Yes I will, I will be there (I’ll be there for you)

I will be there (I’ll be there for you)

(I’ll be there for you) Don’t you worry baby

(I’ll be there for you) I will, I will...
