I SEE YOU (AVATAR, 2009)

Avatar, 2009's epic adventure topped as the all-time highest grossing film previously held by Titanic. Only James Cameron could beat James Cameron in box-office revenues. Former X-Factor wannabe Leona Lewis sang the love theme from the movie, I See You.

I SEE YOU

sung by: Leona Lewis

I see you

I see you

Walking through a dream, I see you

My light in darkness breathing hope of new life

Now I live through you and you through me, enchanting

I pray in my heart that this dream never ends

I see me through your eyes

Living through life flying high

Your life shines the way into paradise

So I offer my life as a sacrifice

I live through your love

You teach me how to see

All that’s beautiful

My senses touch your word I never pictured

Now I give my hope to you

I surrender

I pray in my heart that this world never ends

I see me through your eyes

Living through life flying high

Your love shines the way into paradise

So I offer my life

I offer my love, for you

When my heart was never open

(And my spirit never free)

To the world that you have shown me

But my eyes could not division

All the colors of love and of life ever more

Evermore

(I see me through your eyes)

I see me through your eyes

(Living through life flying high)

Flying high

Your love shines the way into paradise

So I offer my life as a sacrifice

And live through your love

And live through your life

I see you

I see you

I GO CRAZY (SOME KIND OF WONDERFUL, 1987)

One of the well-meaning teen romance/drama that came in the '80s. Some Kind Of Wonderful boasts of wonderful script by no less than John Hughes. Flesh For Lulu provides the theme I Go Crazy that has become one of the most recognizable tunes of the era.

I GO CRAZY

sung by: Flesh For Lulu

SPOKEN:
"I go crazy when I’m without you"

I go crazy when I’m without you

What have I done today

Just sat and watched the jets fly over

A car goes by

And the sun goes down

We talk about the town

This city’s mad in the head

And sick in the soul

All the stars flew away a long time ago

Isn’t that nice

Like Miami Vice

I go crazy when I’m without you

I go crazy when I’m without you

Well your life is like an infants dream

It’s like everything’s on TV

You see your face in the mirror

Could it be your place in the mirror

And so we turn on the TV one more time

And we see that everything is fine

But what have I done today

I go crazy

What have I done today

I go crazy when I’m without you

I go crazy when I’m without you

What have I done today

What have I done today

(INSTRUMENTAL)

Sue-Ellen looks so upset

This isn’t the first time

And it won’t be the last

Things going on behind her back

Oh they give you a heart attack

I go crazy when I’m without you, go crazy

I go crazy when I’m without you, go crazy

I go crazy when I’m without you

But what have I done today

I go crazy

I go crazy

I go crazy

I go crazy
But what have I done today

I go crazy

But what have I done today

I go crazy when I’m without you

I go crazy

I go crazy when I’m without you, go crazy

I go crazy when I’m without you, go crazy

I go crazy when I’m without you

But what have I done today

I go crazy

I go crazy

I go crazy
I go crazy

I DON'T WANNA MISS A THING (ARMAGEDDON, 1998)

One of Aerosmith's biggest hit I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing were used as the theme in the 1998 action flick, Armageddon. A group of oil drillers headed by harry Stamper (Bruce Willis) were tasked to stop the asteroid from colliding into the earth.

I DON'T WANNA MISS A THING

sung by: Aerosmith

I could stay awake just to hear you breathing

Watch you smile while you are sleeping

While you’re far away and dreaming

I could spend my life in this sweet surrender

I could stay lost in this moment forever

Every moment spent with you

Is a moment I treasure

I don’t wanna close my eyes

I don’t wanna fall asleep

'Cause I’d miss you, babe

And I don’t wanna miss a thing

'Cause even when I dream of you

The sweetest dream will never do

I’d still miss you, babe

And I don’t wanna miss a thing

Lying close to you

Feeling your heart beating

And I’m wond’ring what you’re dreaming

Wond’ring if it’s me you’re seeing

Then I kiss your eyes and thank God we’re together

And I just wanna stay with you

In this moment forever, forever and ever

I don’t wanna close my eyes

I don’t wanna fall asleep

'Cause I’d miss you, babe

And I don’t wanna miss a thing

'Cause even when I dream of you

The sweetest dream will never do

I’d still miss you, babe

And I don’t wanna miss a thing

I don’t wanna miss one smile

I don’t wanna miss one kiss

I just wanna be with you

Right here with you, just like this

I just wanna hold you close

Feel your heart so close to mine

And just stay here in this moment

For all the rest of time
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah!

Don’t wanna close my eyes

Don’t wanna fall asleep

'Cause I’d miss you, babe

And I don’t wanna miss a thing

'Cause even when I dream of you

The sweetest dream will never do

I’d still miss you, babe

And I don’t wanna miss a thing

I don’t wanna close my eyes

I don’t wanna fall asleep

'Cause I’d miss you, babe

And I don’t wanna miss a thing

'Cause even when I dream of you

The sweetest dream will never do

I’d still miss you, babe

And I don’t wanna miss a thing

Don’t wanna close my eyes

I don’t wanna fall asleep, yeah

And I don’t wanna miss a thing

HUSH (I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER, 1997)

Aside from Wes Craven's definitive slasher flick of the '90s, comes this another teen thriller also penned by Scream's Kevin Williamson. Based on Lois Duncan's book of the same name, the screen story however steered away from the original printed version. English rock band Kula Shaker provided the hyper-theme Hush.

HUSH

sung by: Kula Shaker

Na na na naa...na na naa na naa...

Na na na naa...na na naa na naa...

Well I got a silly little girl, she’s on my mind

Look at her, she looks so fine

She’s a best girl I’ve ever had

Except that she’s gonna make me feel so sad

Na na na naa...na na naa na naa...

Na na na naa...na na naa na naa...

Hush, hush...

I thought I heard you’re calling my name now

Hush, hush...

You broke my heart but that was a dream now

Hush, hush...

I thought I heard you’re calling my name now

Hush, hush...

You broke my heart but that was a dream now

Early in the morning, late in the evening

Oh gotta believe me honey, I never was a dreamer

Hush, hush.. .

I thought I heard you’re calling my name now

Hush, hush...

You broke my heart but that was a dream now

Hush, hush...

I thought I heard you’re calling my name now

Hush, hush...

You broke my heart but that was a dream now

Early in the morning, late in the evening

Ohhh yeah...

Na na na naa na na naa na naaa...

Na na na naa na na naa na naaa...

Naaaaa naa naa naaaaa naa

naa naaaaa naa naa naaaaaaa...

HALFWAY HOME (THE EARTHLING, 1980)

The Earthling is an adventure-drama starring William Holden. He plays Patrick Foley, a former drifter who resides in an isolated Australian Valley where he was born. He then met Shawn (Rick Schroder), a city boy whose parents were killed in an accident. The two bonded together and Patrick teaches Shawn how to survive in the wilderness. This is one of Schroder's childhood acting and one of Holden's last movies.

HALFWAY HOME

sung by: Maureen McGovern

The roads seems so long
I hope I’ll be strong
Afraid on my own, I think of you
I’m halfway home

Two miles, worlds apart
You reached for me and touched my heart
And oh, how I’ve grown
Alone again but halfway home

Who am I without you there
Will my dream be worth a dream if you can’t share it
I was lost until you came
Now you’re gone but like you said I’m not the same

I’m not sure what will be
But part of you, I take with me
Afraid but not alone, ‘cause you’re part of me
I’m halfway home

I’m not sure what will be
But part of you, I take with me
Afraid but not alone, ‘cause you’re part of me
I’m halfway home

AUTHOR'S NOTE: My posts will resume on May 28. Stay happy as always!

HIS EYES (FRIDAY THE 13TH V A NEW BEGINNING, 1985)

In this fifth installment of the endless bloodbath committed by Jason Voorhees, someone has taken over the killings after Tommy Jarvis offed Jason for good. Who is the one responsible? Australian rock band Pseudo Echo sang the apty titled theme, His Eyes.

HIS EYES

sung by: Pseudo Echo

There was a man so cold, no life was in his eyes

He had a look so hard, I’d never seen him smile

I could’ve told you then, you’d heard it all before

And now you’re in suspense, you’ll have to wait for more

In all those mysteries you’re taken by surprise

You never thought to see that look was in his eyes

There’s a man with no life in his eyes

There’s a man with no life in his eyes

I was the only one who chanced it from the start

There was an evil sense, I swallowed to my heart

And as I took the vow a thought had come to mind

There was a winter mist, I dared not look behind

In all those mysteries you’re taken by surprise

You never thought to see that look was in his eyes

There’s a man with no life in his eyes

There’s a man with no life in his eyes

(INSTRUMENTAL)

In all those mysteries you’re taken by surprise

You never thought to see that look was in his eyes

It’s his eyes

It’s his eyes

There’s a man with no life in his eyes

There’s a man with no life in his eyes

There’s a man with no life in his eyes

There’s a man with no life in his eyes

His eyes

His eyes
