I NEED YOU (JESUS, 1999)

“Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.” – Jesus

Much have been made into movies and tv specials about the life of Jesus Christ. Such one is simply called Jesus made in the late ‘90’s. A two-part t.v.vmovie, it shows not only the life but the work and death of Jesus. LeAnn Rimes sung the soulful and timeless theme of the tv movie about needing The someone all above else. The title says it all.

I NEED YOU
sung by: LeAnn Rimes

I don't need a lot of things

I can get by with nothing
Of all the blessings life can bring
I've always needed something
But I've got all I want
When it comes to loving you
You're my only reason
You're my only truth

I need you like water
Like breath, like rain
I need you like mercy
From heaven's gate
There's a freedom in your arms
That carries me through
I need you

You're the hope that moves me
To courage again
You're the love that rescues me
When the cold winds, rage
And it's so amazing
'Cause that's just how you are
And I can't turn back now
'Cause you've brought me too far

I need you like water
Like breath, like rain
I need you like mercy
From heaven's gate
There's a freedom in your arms
That carries me through
I need you

Oh yes I do
I need you like water
Like breath, like rain
I need you like mercy
From heaven's gate
There's a freedom in your arms
And it carries me through
I need you

Oh yes I do
I need you
ahh I need you

I WON’T SAY I’M IN LOVE (HERCULES, 1997)

“I trained all those would-be heroes. Odysseus, Perseus, Theseus. A lot of "yeuseus." And every one of those bums let me down flatter than a discus. None of them could go the distance.” – Phil

A fun sequence in Disney's take on Hercules, I Won’t Say I’m In Love is a charming song number when Meg (Susan Egan as vocals) is slowly falling for Hercules but tries to deny it. Cute.

I WON’T SAY I’M IN LOVE
sung by: Susan Egan

Meg:

If there's a prize for rotten judgement
I guess I've already won that
No man is worth the aggravation
That's ancient history, been there, done that!

Muses:
Who'd'ya think you're kiddin'
He's the Earth and heaven to you
Try to keep it hidden
Honey, we can see right through you
Girl, ya can't conceal it
We know how ya feel and
Who you're thinking of

Meg:
No chance, no way
I won't say it, no, no

Muses:
You swoon, you sigh
Why deny it, uh-oh

Meg:
It's too cliche
I won't say I'm in love
I thought my heart had learned its lesson
It feels so good when you start out
My head is screaming get a grip, girl
Unless you're dying to cry your heart out
Oh

Muses:
You keep on denying
Who you are and how you're feeling
Baby, we're not buying
Hon, we saw ya hit the ceiling
Face it like a grown-up
When ya gonna own up
That ya got, got, got it bad

Meg:
No chance, now way
I won't say it, no, no

Muses:
Give up, give in
Check the grin you're in love

Meg:
This scene won't play
I won't say I'm in love

Muses:
You're doin flips read our lips
You're in love

Meg:
You're way off base
I won't say it
Get off my case
I won't say it

Muses:
Girl, don't be proud
It's O.K. you're in love

Meg:
Oh
At least out loud
I won't say I'm in love

GAMBLER (VISION QUEST, 1985)

“But all I ever settled for is that we're born to live and then to die, and... we got to do it alone, each in his own way. And I guess that's why we got to love those people who deserve it like there's no tomorrow. 'Cause when you get right down to it - there isn't.” – Louden Swain

The song Gambler though famous in the ‘80’s was overshadowed by Madonna’s other and more famous song Crazy For You in the movie Vision Quest. Sporting a very different look and pretty much one of her early career image can be seen while singing (and dancing) to Gambler.

GAMBLER
sung by: Madonna

Gambler, gambler

I'm a gambler, and I will take you by surprise
Gambler, I'll aim this straight between your eyes
Gambler, yeah I know all the words to say
'Cause I'm a gambler, I only play the game my way, yeah

Don't want to say this but I think that I should
I'm better off forgotten if you think that I'd be good
One day you see me the next day I'm gone
Don't fight me baby I don't want to hold on

I'm a gambler, a gambler

You're not happy with the way I act
You better turn around boy, don't look back
You're getting angry, you know I can see
You're just jealous 'cause you can't be me

I'm a gambler, and I will take you by surprise
Gambler, I'll aim this straight between your eyes
Gambler, yeah I know all the words to say
'Cause I'm a gambler, I only play the game my way, yeah

You can't stop me now
'Cause I'm right and I'm making advances
Let me show you how
Tonight, I'll be taking my chances
On you, on you, on you, on you, that's right baby

I'm a gambler, gambler
You understand what I'm talking about?

I'm a gambler, and I will take you by surprise
Gambler, I'll aim this straight between your eyes
Gambler, yeah I know all the words to say
'Cause I'm a gambler, I only play the game my way, yeah

I'm a gambler, a gambler
Gambler, 'cause I'm a gambler

You can't stop me now
I'm on the road baby I know how
You can't stop me now
Oh no
You can't stop me now
You can't stop me now
You can't stop me now

'Cause I'm a gambler, yeah
I'm a gambler
That's right baby

LOVE COMES WITHOUT A WARNING (THE LONELY GUY, 1984)

“I know phony sweat when I smell it. When you first came in,
I thought you were Larry Bird.” – Iris

The opening song of The Lonely Guy is sung by the famous group America. Love Comes Without A Warning is one of the lesser known songs of the group but known to their loyal listeners. The opening theme sets the mood for the life of the titular character played with ease by funnyman Steve Martin.

LOVE COMES WITHOUT A WARNING
sung by: America

When life was just empty rooms

For company I'd talk to the moon
I danced along to my own song
That no one could hear

When nights were silent and dark
I'd lie in shadows, stare at the stars
The quiet voice that lifted my heart
Was always so clear
It told me...

The chance for love comes without warning
So don't stop looking for it
Yeah love comes without warning
So be ready for love

I dreamed it thousands of times
I even felt your skin touchin' mine
Sometimes you were so clear in my mind
I knew you were here
It kept me...

Believin' love comes without warning
So don't stop looking for it
Yeah love comes without warning
So be ready for love

Yours are the eyes
I have spent my life lookin' for
If they're not telling lies
You were lookin' for me

I wanna tell everyone
Who's waitin' in the dark for the sun
Before your chance in life is gone
You'll be in the light
Remember...

The chance of love comes without warning
So don't stop looking for it
Yeah love (always comes) comes without warning
So be ready for love

Your chance for love comes without warning
So don't stop looking for it
Yeah love (always comes) comes without warning
So be ready for love

Your chance for love comes without warning
So don't stop looking for it
Yeah love (always comes) comes without warning
So be ready for love

IF I NEVER KNEW YOU (POCAHONTAS, 1995)

“My daughter speaks with the wisdom beyond her years. We've all come here with anger in our hearts, but she comes with courage and understanding. From this day forward, if there is to be more killing, it will not start with me.” – Powhatan

The actual love theme of Disney's Pocahontas. Singers Jon Secada and Shanice duet for the song If I Never Knew You that speaks for the love between Pocahontas (Irene Bedard) and Capt. John Smith (Mel Gibson). One of the few based on true character the famous animated studio has ever made.

IF I NEVER KNEW YOU
sung by: Jon Secada & Shanice

If I never knew you
If I never felt this love
I would have no inkling of
How precious life can be
And if I never held you
I would never have a clue
How at last I'd find in you
The missing part of me

In this world so full of fear
Full of rage and lies
I can see the truth so clear
In your eyes
So dry your eyes

And I'm so grateful to you
I'd have lived my whole life through
Lost forever
If I never knew you

I thought our love would be so beautiful
Somehow we made the whole world bright

I never knew that fear and hate could be so strong
All they'd leave us where these whispers in the night
But still my heart is singing
We were right

If I never knew you
(There's no moment I regret)
If I never knew this love
(Since the moment that we met)
I would have no inkling of
(If our time has gone too fast)
How precious life can be
(I've lived at last...)

And I'm so grateful to you
I'd have lived my whole life through
Empty as the sky

Never knowing why
Lost forever
If I never knew you

WHAT IS LOVE (SUPERGIRL, 1984)

“Leave this place and do no harm!” – Supergirl

Though no love theme with vocals was ever recorded in Superman’s famous cousin Kara (Helen Slater), Supergirl brought by the same producer who made us believe a man can fly, manages to give instead a ‘soaring’ theme conducted by Jerry Goldsmith especially in the first flying sequence of Supergirl. '80's pop song What Is Love by Howard Jones is heard during Selena's party played by Faye Dunaway.

WHAT IS LOVE
sung by: Howard Jones

I love you whether or not you love me
I love you even if you think I don’t
Sometimes I find you doubt my love for you
But I don’t mind
Why should I mind, Why should I mind

What is love anyway, does anybody
Love anybody anyway
What is love anyway, does anybody
Love anybody anyway

Can anybody love anyone so much that they will never fear
Never worry never be sad
The answer is they cannot love this much nobody can
This is why I don’t mind you doubting

What is love anyway, does anybody
Love anybody anyway
What is love anyway, does anybody
Love anybody anyway

And maybe love is letting people be just what they want to be
The door always must be left unlocked
To love when circumstance may lead someone away from you
And not to spend the time just doubting

What is love anyway, does anybody
Love anybody anyway
What is love anyway, does anybody
Love anybody anyway
What is love anyway, does anybody
Love anybody anyway
What is love anyway, does anybody
Love anybody anyway
What is love anyway, does anybody
Love anybody anyway

What is love anyway, does anybody
Love anybody anyway

BANG BANG (MY BABY SHOT ME DOWN) (KILL BILL VOL. 1, 2003)

“Bill... it's your baby...” – The Bride

Director Quentin Tarantino always has the knack for using appropriate songs for his movies specifically in each of his movie scenes. Such as the one in the first of his epic revenge, Kill Bill Vol. 1. Nancy Sinatra sung with such raw emotion the song Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down).

BANG BANG (MY BABY SHOT ME DOWN)
sung by: Nancy Sinatra

I was five and he was six

We rode on horses made of sticks
He wore black and I wore white
He would always win the fight

Bang bang, he shot me down
Bang bang, I hit the ground
Bang bang, that awful sound
Bang bang, my baby shot me down

Seasons came and changed the time
When I grew up, I called him mine
He would always laugh and say
"Remember when we used to play?"

Bang bang, I shot you down
Bang bang, you hit the ground
Bang bang, that awful sound
Bang bang, I used to shoot you down

Music played, and people sang
Just for me, the church bells rang

Now he's gone, I don't know why
And till this day, sometimes I cry
He didn't even say goodbye
He didn't take the time to lie

Bang bang, he shot me down
Bang bang, I hit the ground
Bang bang, that awful sound
Bang bang, my baby shot me down...

MOONLIGHT (SABRINA, 1995)

“Paris is always a good idea.” – Sabrina

The classic Sabrina has been given a ‘90’s touch via Harrison Ford and Julia Ormond starrer. While not as captivating as the Audrey Hepburn classic, it’s still fun and easy to watch. Sting provided the song Moonlight. His voice is pitch perfect for the theme of the movie.

MOONGLIGHT
sung by: Sting

In the moonlight

When the shadows play
When the thought of what could happen
Takes your breath away
Sighs and whispers
Quiet laughter in the air
Unspoken invitations everywhere

In the moonlight
All the words you say
Make it relatively easy
To be swept away
In the half light
Can we trust the way we feel
Can we be sure that anything is real?

Stars keep secrets as they wander indiscreetly
While the echoes of a song go drifting by
We must be careful not to lose our way completely
Or the magic that we seek here
We can't be sure will be here

In the morning
With the moon away
And if in each other's arms
Is where we're meant to stay

In the love light
When our eyes have grown accustomed to the daylight
We'll see what waits for us to share
For all the things we've dreamed of in the moonlight
Will be there

LADY, LADY, LADY (FLASHDANCE, 1983)

“I don't want you buying me anything. I don't want you buying me, period!” – Alex Owens

The love theme of Flashdance, Lady Lady Lady sung by Joe Esposito plays well during the course of the film when Alex Owens (the ageless Jennifer Beals) is falling for Nick Hurley (Michael Nouri) while helping her realized her dream to be a profesional dancer. One of the great dance movies in the '80's that still holds up well.

LADY, LADY, LADY
sung by: Joe Esposito

Frightened by a dream, you're not the only one

Running like the wind, thoughts can come undone
Dancing behind masks, just sort of pantomime
But images reveal whatever lonely hearts can hide

Lady, lady, lady, lady, don't walk this lonely avenue
Lady, lady, lady, lady, let me touch that part of you, you want me to

Lady, lady, lady, lady, I know it's in your heart to stay
Lady, lady, lady, lady, when will I ever hear you say, I love you

Time like silent stares, with no apology
Move towards the stars, and be my only one
Reach into the light, and feel love's gravity
That pulls you to my side, where you should always be

Lady, lady, lady, lady, don't walk this lonely avenue
Lady, lady, lady, lady, let me touch that part of you, you want me to

Lady, lady, lady, lady, I know it's in your heart to stay
Lady, lady, lady, lady...

DREAM A LITTLE DREAM OF ME (BEAUTIFUL THING, 1996)

“An urban fairytale.” - tagline

A different kind of young love is the subject of the film Beautiful Thing, that of two teen boys Jamie and Ste (Glen Berry & Scott Neal). A commendable film about discovering oneself. One of the songs by The Mamas and the Papas are wonderfully played during the movie, Dream A Littel Dream Of Me.

DREAM A LITTLE DREAM OF ME
sung by: The Mamas And The Papas

Stars shining bright above you

Night breezes seem to whisper I love you?
Birds singing in the sycamore tree
Dream a little dream of me

Say nighty-night and kiss me
Just hold me tight and tell me you'll miss me
While I'm alone, blue as can be
Dream a little dream of me

Stars fading but I linger on, dear
Still craving your kiss
I'm longing to linger till dawn, dear
Just saying this

Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you
Sweet dreams that leave all worries behind you
But in your dreams, whatever they be
Dream a little dream of me

Stars fading but I linger on, dear
Still craving your kiss
I'm longing to linger till dawn, dear
Just saying this

Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you
Sweet dreams that leave all worries far behind you
But in your dreams, whatever they be
Dream a little dream of me

YOU’RE SO VAIN (DICK, 1999)

“You can't let Dick control your life!” – Betsy Jobs

A very apt tune in the movie, the song You’re So Vain by Carly Simon sums up the qualitities on what Arlene Lorenzo (Michelle Williams) thought of her once very famous teen-love, Richard Nixon. Dick is a refreshing and clever take on the infamous Watergate scandal. And the song heard almost at the end of the movie could only be sung by Carly Simon herself.

YOU’RE SO VAIN
sung by: Carly Simon

You walked into the party

Like you were walking onto a yacht
Your hat strategically dipped below one eye
Your scarf it was apricot
You had one eye in the mirror
As you watched yourself gavotte

And all the girls dreamed that they'd be your partner
They'd be your partner, and

You're so vain
You probably think this song is about you
You're so vain
I'll bet you think this song is about you
Don't you?
Don't you?

You had me several years ago
When I was still quite naive
Well, you said that we made such a pretty pair
And that you would never leave
But you gave away the things you loved
And one of them was me

I had some dreams they were clouds in my coffee
Clouds in my coffee, and

You're so vain
You probably think this song is about you
You're so vain
I'll bet you think this song is about you
Don't you?
Don't you?

I had some dreams they were clouds in my coffee
Clouds in my coffee, and

You're so vain
You probably think this song is about you
You're so vain
I'll bet you think this song is about you
Don't you?
Don't you?

Well, I hear you went up to Saratoga
And your horse naturally won
Then you flew your Lear jet up to Nova Scotia
To see the total eclipse of the sun
Well, you're where you should be all the time
And when you're not, you're with

Some underworld spy or the wife of a close friend
Wife of a close friend, and

You're so vain
You probably think this song is about you
You're so vain
I'll bet you think this song is about you
Don't you?
Don't you?

IF I FELL (A HARD DAY’S NIGHT, 1964)

“Has success changed your life?” – reporter

Another famous song from the Fab Four's equally famous movie A Hard Day's Night. If I Fell proved to be not only popular to the loyal Beatles fans but crosses boundaries even by today's music when other singers rendered their own version of the song. One of those feel-good tunes from the Beatles.

IF I FELL
sung by: The Beatles

If I fell in love with you

Would you promise to be true
And help me understand?
'Cause I been in love before
And I found that love was more
Than just holding hands

If I give my heart
To you
I must be sure
From the very start
That you
Would love me more than her

If I trust in you
Oh, please
Don't run and hide
If I love you, too
Oh, please
Don't hurt my pride like her

'Cause I couldn't stand the pain
And I
Would be sad if our new love
Was in vain

So I hope you'll see
That I
Would love to love you
And that she
Will cry
When she learns we are two

'Cause I couldn't stand the pain
And I
Would be sad if our new love
Was in vain

So I hope you'll see
That I
Would love to love you
And that she
Will cry
When she learns we are two
If I fell in love with you

JUST MY IMAGINATION (DUETS, 2000)

“Six lost souls in search of a little harmony.” – tagline

A reworking of the famous song years ago, Just My Imagination was sung by one of Duets leads, Gwyneth Paltrow along with singer/songwriter Babyface. A nice rendition and a great soundtrack what with the film's theme itself, songs.

JUST MY IMAGINATION
sung by: Gwyneth Paltrow & Babyface

Each day through my window
I watch him as he passes by
I say to myself
I'm so lucky he's so fly
To have a boy like him
Is truly a dream come true
Out of all the girlies in the world he belongs to you

But it was just my imagination
Runnin' away with me
Tell you it was just my imagination
Running away with me

Soon we'll be married
And raise a family (oh yeah)
Have a cozy little crib in the country
With two children maybe three
I tell you I....can raise your lies down baby
It couldn't be a dream
'Cause too real it all seems oooohhhh

But it was just my imagination (once again yeah)
Runnin' away with me (running away with me)
Tell you it was just my imagination
Running away with me (away with me yeah)

Every night on my knees I pray
Dear lord hear my plea yeah
Don't ever let another take his love from me
Or I will surely die
Heavenly (heavenly) when your arms unfold me
I hear the tender upsity
But in reality
He doesn't even know me

But it was just my imagination
(ohh, so fly look out my window)
Runnin' away with me
(It's running away with me baby)
Just my imagination(runnin away)
Running away with me
(my baby, my sugar, my sweetie, look at my baby)
Just my imagination
(ohh, soo fly look out my window)
Runnin' away with me
(It's runnin away with me)
Just my imagination (yeah)
Running away with me
(my baby, my sugar, my sweetie, look at my baby)
Just my imagination
(ohh, soo fly look out my window)
Runnin' away with me
(It's runnin' away with me)
Just my imagination
(yeah)

I FINALLY FOUND SOMEONE (THE MIRROR HAS TWO FACES, 1996)

“It's not a date. We're just agreeing to eat
at the same table.” – Rose Morgan

The actual and more famous theme from The Mirror Has Two Faces is the duet of the star herself, Barbra Streisand and Bryan Adams. Complementing the core of the movie itself, the theme is about two people conversing. Nice. The song was nominated both at the Oscars and the Golden Globe for best original song.

I FINALLY FOUND SOMEONE
sung by: Bryan Adams & Barbra Streisand

I finally found someone, who knocks me off my feet
I finally found the one, who makes me feel complete
We started over coffee, we started out as friends
It's funny how from simple things, the best things begin

This time it's different (dah dah dah dah)
It's all because of you (dah dah dah dah)
It's better than it's ever been
'Cause we can talk it through
My favorite line was "Can I call you sometime?"
It's all you had to say to take my breath away
This is it, oh

I finally found someone
Someone to share my life
I finally found the one
To be with every night
'Cause whatever I do
It's just got to be you
My life has just begun
I finally found someone (ooh, someone)
I finally found someone (ooh)
Did I keep you waiting (I didn't mind)
I apologize (baby, that's fine)
I would wait forever just to know you were mine
And I love your hair (sure it looks right?)
I love what you wear (isn't it too tight?)
You're exceptional
I can't wait for the rest of my life
This is it, oh

I finally found someone
Someone to share my life
I finally found the one
To be with every night
'Cause whatever I do
It's just got to be you
My life has just begun
I finally found someone (ooh, someone)

I finally found someone (ooh)
'Cause whatever I do
It's just got to be you
My life has just begun
I finally found someone

CAN’T TAKE MY EYES OFF YOU (CONSPIRACY THEORY, 1997)

“What if your most paranoid nightmares
had just come true?” – tagline

In an unlikely pairing of Julia Roberts and Mel Gibson, that is shying away in a romcom genre, they made an interesting flick about a man named Jerry Fletcher (Gibson) who views the world via endless conspiracies until he made a discovery that challenges his beliefs and endangers him as well as the woman he sees and love from afar, Alice Sutton (Roberts). The popular song of Frankie Valli has been used in the film to great effect, Can't Take My Eyes Off You.

CAN’T TAKE MY EYES OFF YOU
sung by: Frankie Valli

You're just too good to be true
Can't take my eyes off you
You'd be like Heaven to touch
I wanna hold you so much
At long last love has arrived
And I thank God I'm alive
You're just too good to be true
Can't take my eyes off you

Pardon the way that I stare
There's nothing else to compare
The sight of you leaves me weak
There are no words left to speak
But if you feel like I feel
Please let me know that it's real
You're just too good to be true
Can't take my eyes off you

I love you, baby
And if it's quite alright
I need you, baby
To warm a lonely night
I love you, baby
Trust in me when I say
Oh, pretty baby
Don't bring me down, I pray
Oh, pretty baby, now that I found you, stay
And let me love you, baby
Let me love you

You're just too good to be true
Can't take my eyes off you
You'd be like Heaven to touch
I wanna hold you so much
At long last love has arrived
And I thank God I'm alive
You're just too good to be true
Can't take my eyes off you

I love you, baby
And if it's quite alright
I need you, baby
To warm a lonely night
I love you, baby
Trust in me when I say
Oh, pretty baby
Don't bring me down, I pray
Oh, pretty baby, now that I found you, stay

I CAN WAIT FOREVER (GHOSTBUSTERS, 1984)

“Ray, if someone asks if you are a god, you say, ‘yes!’”
– Winston Zeddmore

‘80’s blockbuster family fare is about a group of parapsychology profs/scientists stumbled upon an idea on how to 'bust' ghosts and other otherwordly beings. So came an agency called Ghostbusters. Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson star as Drs. Venkman, Stantz, Spengler and Zeddmore. The song I Can Wait Forever by Air Supply, though barely audible in the movie stands as one of the entries in the film's soundtrack.

I CAN WAIT FOREVER

sung by: Air Supply

When you say, I miss the things you do
I just wanna get back close again to you
But for now, your voice is near enough
How I miss you, when I miss you, love

And though, all the days that pass me by so slow
All the emptiness inside me flows, all around
And there's no way out I'm just thinkin' so much of you
There was never any doubt

I can wait forever, if you say you'll be there, too
I can wait forever, if you will
I know it's worth it all
To spend my life alone with you

When it looked, as though my life was wrong
You took my love and gave it somewhere to belong
I'll be here, when hope is out of sight
I just wish that I was next to you tonight
And oh I'll be reachin' for you even though
You'll be somewhere else, my love will go

Like a bird, on it's way back home
I could never let you go, and I just want you to know

I can wait forever, if you say you'll be there, too
I can wait forever, if you will, I know it's worth it all
To spend my life alone with you

Where are you know?
Alone, with the thoughts we share
Keep them strong somehow
And you know, I'll always be there

I can wait forever, if you say you'll be there, too
I can wait, forever if you will
I know it's worth it all
To spend my life alone

I can wait forever, if you say you'll be there, too
I can wait, forever if you will
I can wait forever or more
I can wait forever

BIG YELLOW TAXI (TWO WEEKS NOTICE, 2002)

“Please don't tell me you called me out of a wedding
to pick out a suit.” – Lucy Kelson

Sandra Bullock plays the neurotic lawyer Lucy Kelson who’s at odds with her own client, the cocky millionaire George Wade (Hugh Grant). One of Sandra Bullock's signature romcom style. Counting Crows and Vanessa Carlton provided their version of Big Yellow Taxi.

BIG YELLOW TAXI
sung by: Counting Crows & Vanessa Carlton

Adam Duritz:

They paved paradise and put up a parking lot
With a pink hotel, a boutique, and a swingin' hot spot
Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you got 'til it's gone
They paved paradise and put up a parking lot

Vanessa Carlton:
Ooooh, bop bop bop
Ooooh, bop bop bop

Adam:
They took all the trees, and put em in a tree museum
And they charged the people a dollar and a half to see them
No, no, no
Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you got 'til it's gone
They paved paradise, and put up a parking lot

Vanessa:
Ooooh, bop bop bop
Ooooh, bop bop bop

Adam:
Hey farmer, farmer, put away your DDT
I don't care about spots on my apples
Leave me the birds and the bees
Please
Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you got 'til it's gone
They paved paradise and put up a parking lot
Hey now, they paved paradise to put up a parking lot
Why not?

Vanessa:
Ooooh, bop bop bop
Ooooh, bop bop bop

Adam:
Listen, late last night, I heard the screen door slam
And a big yellow taxi took my girl away
Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you got 'til it's gone
They paved paradise and put up a parking lot
Well, don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you got 'til it's gone
They paved paradise to put up a parking lot
Why not?
They paved paradise and put up a parking lot
Hey hey hey
Paved paradise and put up a parking lot

Vanessa:
Ooooh, bop bop bop
Ooooh, bop bop bop

Adam & Vanessa:
I don't wanna give it
Why you wanna give it
Why you wanna giving it all away
Hey, hey, hey
Now you wanna give it
I should wanna give it
Now you wanna giving it all away

I don't wanna give it
Why you wanna give it
Why you wanna giving it all away
Hey, hey, hey
Now you wanna give it

Vanessa:
Why do you want me?
Why do you want me?

Adam:

ALL FOR LOVE (THE THREE MUSKETEERS, 1993)

“Fear not, my son, we are with you, always... all for one...” – Aramis

A fun retelling of the adventures of the famous three musketeers Athos (Kiefer Sutherland), Porthos (Oliver Platt) and Aramis (Charlie Sheen). Along came D'Artagnan (Chris O’Donnell) who wants to stop the scheming Cardinal Richelieu (Tim Curry). Just as the musketeers were three, so does the singers who sung All For Love, Bryan Adams, Rod Stewart and Sting.

ALL FOR LOVE
sung by: Bryan Adams, Rod Stewart & Sting

When it's love you give

(I'll be a man of good faith)
Then in love you live
(I'll make a stand, I won't break)
I'll be the rock you can build on
Be there when you're old
To have and to hold

When there's love inside
(I swear I'll always be strong)
Then there's a reason why
(I'll prove to you we belong)
I'll be the wall that protects you
From the wind and the rain
From the hurt and pain

Let's make it all for one and all for love
Let the one you hold be the one you want
The one you need
'Cause when it's all for one it's one for all
When there's someone that should know
Then just let your feelings show
And make it all for one and all for love

When it's love you make
(I'll be the fire in your night)
Then it's love you take
(I will defend, I will fight)
I'll be there when you need me
When honor's at stake
This vow I will make

That it's all for one and all for love
Let the one be the one you want
The one you need
'Cause when it's all for one it's one for all
When there's someone that should know
Then just let your feelings show
And make it all for one and all for love

Don't lay our love to rest
'Cause we could stand up to you test
We got everything and more than we had planned
More than the rivers that run the land
We've got it all in our hands

Now it's all for one and all for love
(It's all for love)
Let the one you hold be the one you want
The one you need
'Cause when it's all for one it's one for all
(It's one for all)
When there's someone that should know
Then just let your feelings show
When there's someone that you want
When there's someone that you need
Let's make it all, all for one and all for love

ALL I WANT IS YOU (REALITY BITES, 1994)

“I am not under any orders to make the world a better place.”
– Troy Dyer

One of the greatest and true band group U2 sung one of their popular songs in Reality Bites. All I Want Is You was heard during the latter part of the film when Lelaina (played by Winona Ryder), lying in bed, smokes cigar and contemplates about her relationship with Troy (Ethan Hawke).

ALL I WANT IS YOU
sung by: U2

You say you want

Diamonds on a ring of gold
You say you want
Your story to remain untold

But all the promises we make
From the cradle to the grave
When all I want is you

You say you'll give me
A highway with no one on it
Treasure just to look upon it
All the riches in the night

You say you'll give me
Eyes in a moon of blindness
A river in a time of dryness
A harbour in the tempest

But all the promises we make
From the cradle to the grave
When all I want is you

You say you want
Your love to work out right
To last with me through the night

You say you want
Diamonds on a ring of gold
Your story to remain untold
Your love not to grow cold

All the promises we break
From the cradle to the grave
When all I want is you
You...all I want is...
You...all I want is...
You...all I want is...
You...

ALL I HAVE TO DO IS DREAM (RIDING IN CARS WITH BOYS, 2001)

"Remember, I am your mother. And that means you're not allowed to stay mad at me." - Beverly Donofrio

Based on a true story of a writer wannabe young woman who has a son at the age of 15. One of Drew Barrymore's better roles who plays Beverly Donofrio. The very catchy Everly Brothers song All I Have To Do Is Dream was not written for the movie but very much set the film's mood notably when Beverly was just a kid.

ALL I HAVE TO DO IS DREAM
sung by: The Everly Brothers

Drea-ea-ea-ea-eam, dream, dream, dream
Drea-ea-ea-ea-eam, dream, dream, dream

When I want you in my arms
When I want you and all your charms
Whenever I want you, all I have to do is
Drea-ea-ea-ea-eam, dream, dream, dream

When I feel blue in the night
And I need you to hold me tight
Whenever I want you, all I have to do is
Drea-ea-ea-ea-eam

I can make you mine, taste your lips of wine
Anytime night or day
Only trouble is, gee whiz I'm dreamin' my life away
I need you so that I could die
I love you so and that is why
Whenever I want you, all I have to do is
Drea-ea-ea-ea-eam, dream, dream, dream
Drea-ea-ea-ea-eam

I can make you mine, taste your lips of wine
Anytime night or day
Only trouble is, gee whiz I'm dreamin' my life away
I need you so that I could die
I love you so and that is why
Whenever I want you, all I have to do is
Drea-ea-ea-ea-eam, dream, dream, dream
Drea-ea-ea-ea-eam, dream, dream, dream
