MY FUNNY FRIEND AND ME (THE EMPEROR’S NEW GROOVE, 2000)

“This is Yzma, the emperor's advisor. Living proof that dinosaurs once roamed the Earth.” - Kuzco

Disney tweaked the famous tale of an emperor's new clothes into a new 'groove'. The tale of a heartless emperor named Kuzco that was turned into a llama by his fired consultant Yzma is hilarious enough. A fine family viewing with commendable lessons at the end. Sting sung the theme My Funny Friend And Me.

MY FUNNY FRIEND AND ME
sung by: Sting

In the quiet time of evening
When the stars assume their patterns
And the day has made his journey
And we wondered just what happened
To the life we knew before the world changed
When not a thing I held was true
But you were kind to me and you reminded me
That the world is not my playground
There are other things that matter
And when a simple needs protecting
My illusions all would shatter
But you stayed in my corner
The only world I know was upside down
And now the world and me
I know you carry me

You see the patterns in the big sky
Those constellations look like you and I
Just like the patterns in the big sky
We could be lost we could refuse to try
But we made it through in the dark night
Would those lucky guys turn out to be
But that unusual blend of my funny friend and me

I'm not as clever as I thought I was
I'm not the boy I used to be because
You showed me something different
You showed me something pure
I always seemed so certain but
I was really never sure
But you stayed and you called my name
When others would have walked out on a lousy game
And you could've made it through
But your funny friend and me

You see the patterns in the big sky
Those constellations look like you and I
That tiny planet in a bigger guy
I don't know whether I should laugh or cry
Just like the patterns in the big sky
We'll be together till the end is nigh
Don't know the answer or the reason why
We'll stick together till the day we die
If I had to do this all a second time
I won't complain or make a fuss
When the angels sing that that unlikely blend
Are those two funny friends
That's us

MUSIC OF MY HEART
sung by: Gloria Estefan & NSync

You'll never know what you've done for me
What your faith in me has done for my soul
And you'll never know the gift you've given me
I'll carry it with me
Through the days ahead I'll think of days before
You made me hope for something better
And made me reach for something more

You taught me to run
You taught me to fly
Helped me to free the me inside
Helped me hear the music of my heart
Helped me hear the music of my heart

You've opened my eyes, you've opened the door
To something I've never known before
And your love is the music of my heart
(Music of my heart)

You were the one
Always on my side (always on my side)
Always standing by (always standing by)
Seeing me through

You were the song that always made me sing
(made me sing, made me sing)
I'm singin' this for you (singin this for you baby)
Everywhere I go I'll think of where I've been
(think of where I've been)
And of the one who knew me better
Than anyone ever will again
You taught me to run
You taught me to fly
Helped me to free the me inside
Helped me hear the music of my heart
Helped me hear the music of my heart

You've opened my eyes, you've opened the door
To something I've never known before
And your love is the music of my heart
What you taught me
Only your love could ever teach me
You got through when no one could reach me before
'Cause you always saw in me
All the best that I could be
It was you who set me free

You taught me to run
You taught me to fly
Helped me to free the me inside
Helped me hear the music of my heart
Helped me hear the music of my heart

You taught me to run
You taught me to fly
Helped me to free the me inside
Helped me hear the music of my heart
(music of my heart)
Helped me hear the music of my heart

You've opened my eyes, you've opened the door
To something I've never known before
And your love is the music of my heart
(music of my heart, music of my heart)
(Is the music of) My heart

MEET ME HALFWAY (OVER THE TOP, 1987)

“The world meets nobody halfway. When you want something,
you gotta take it.” – Lincoln Hawk

Resting his boxing gloves for a while, Sylvester Stallone takes another form of sport thru arm wrestling. In the movie Over The Top, he plays Lincoln Hawk, a trucker who longs to be with his estranged son again. Kenny Loggins' Meet Me Halfway was heard
during one of the memorable scenes in the movie.

MEET ME HALFWAY
sung by: Kenny Loggins

In a lifetime
Made of memories
I believe
In destiny
Every moment returns again in time
When I've got the future on my mind
Know that you'll be the only one

Meet me halfway
Across the sky
Out where the world belongs
To only you and I
Meet me halfway
Across the sky
Make this a new beginning of another life

In a lifetime
There is only love
Reaching for the lonely one
We are stronger when we are given love
When we put emotions on the line
Know that we are the timeless ones

Meet me halfway
Across the sky
Out where the world belongs
To only you and I
Meet me halfway
Across the sky
Make this a new beginning of another life

(INSTRUMENTAL)

Meet me halfway
Across the sky
Out where the world belongsto only you and I
Meet me halfway
Across the sky
Make this a new beginning of another life..

MAY IT BE
sung by: Enya
May it be an evening star
Shines down upon you
May it be when darkness falls
Your heart will be true
You walk a lonely road
Oh, how far you are from home

Mornié utúlié (darkness has come)
Believe and you will find your way
Mornié alantié (darkness has fallen)
A promise lives within you now

May it be shadows call
Will fly away
May it be your journey on
To light the day
When the night is overcome
You may rise to find the sun

Mornié utúlié (darkness has come)
Believe and you will find your way
Mornié alantié (darkness has fallen)
A promise lives within you now

A promise lives within you now

LOVE IS ALL AROUND (FOUR WEDDINGS AND A FUNERAL, 1994)

"In the name of the father, the son, and the holy spigot. Spirit!"
- Father Gerald

Hugh Grant, before teaming up with Julia Roberts and Sandra Bullock first made this britromcom about a man named Charles (Grant) along with his friends wondering about love and marriage while attending the titular events. He then meets the so-called perfect woman named Carrie (Andie MacDowell) with strings attached. Wet Wet Wet group sung the popular theme of the movie, Love Is All Around.

LOVE IS ALL AROUND
sung by: Wet Wet Wet

I feel it in my fingers
I feel it in my toes
Love is all around me
And so the feeling grows

It's written on the wind
It's everywhere I go, oh yes it is
So if you really love me
Come on and let it show

You know I love you
I always will
My mind's made up
By the way that I feel
There's no beginning
There'll be no end
'Cause on my love you can depend

I see your face before me
As I lay on my bed
I kinda get to thinking
Of all the things you said, oh yes I did

You gave your promise to me
And I gave mine to you
I need someone beside me
In everything I do, oh yes I do

You know I love you
I always will
My mind's made up
By the way that I feel
There's no beginning
There'll be no end
'Cause on my love you can depend

Got to keep it moving
Oh, it's written in the wind
Oh everywhere I go, yeah, oh well
So if you really love me, love me, love me

Come on and let it show
Come on and let it show
Come on and let it come on
And let it (come and let it show, baby)
Come on, come on, come on let it show
Baby, come on and let it show
Come on and let it show
Baby, come on and let it show

LOOK WHAT YOU'VE DONE TO ME (URBAN COWBOY, 1980)

"You know Bud; sometimes even a cowboy's gotta swallow his pride to hold on to somebody he loves." - Uncle Bob

Aside from Grease and Saturday Night Fever, John Travolta was also known in the film Urban Cowboy as Bud, a country boy who moves to the city to see his uncle and meets a country girl named Sissy (Debra Winger). They eventually married until a man named Wes (Scott Glenn) comes between them. The film is made fanous for the mechanical bull scene. Boz Scaggs sung one of his signature songs in the film.

LOOK WHAT YOU'VE DONE TO ME
sung by: Boz Scaggs

Hope they never end this song
This could take us all night long
I looked at the moon and I felt blue
Then I looked again and I saw you

Eyes like fire in the night
Bridges burning with their light
Now I want to spend the whole night through
And Honey, Yes, I'd like to spend it all on you

Love, look what you've done to me
Never thought I'd fall again so easily
Oh, love, you wouldn't lie to me
Leading me to feel this way

They might fade and turn to stone
Let's get crazy all alone
Hold me closer than you'd ever dare
Close your eyes and I'll be there

After all is said and done
After all you are the one
Take me up your stairs and through the door
Take me where we don't care anymore

Love, look what you've done to me
Never thought I'd fall again so easily
Oh, love, you wouldn't lie to me ...would you
Leading me to feel this way

Love, look what you've done to me
Never thought I'd fall again so easily
Oh, love, you wouldn't lie to me
Leading me to feel this way...

HAVE YOURSELF A MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS (MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS, 1944)

"A cast of favorites in the Charming . . . Romantic . . . Tuneful Love Story of the Early 1900s!" - tagline

One of Judy Garland's famous scene in one of her movies beside trekking down the yellow brick road is where she sung the iconic holiday tune, Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas. In the film, Meet Me In St. Loius where the equally famous song was first heard. The film is about the Smiths sisters discovering everything about love and life before moving to New York. A family movie for all time.

HAVE YOURSELF A MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS
sung by: Judy Garland

Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Let your heart be light
Next year all our troubles will be out of sight

Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Make the yuletide gay
Next year all our troubles will be miles away

Once again as in olden days
Happy golden days of yore
Faithful friends who were dear to us
Will be near to us once more

Someday soon, we all will be together
If the Fates allow
Until then, we'll have to muddle through somehow
So have yourself a merry little Christmas now

IT’S CHRISTMAS ALL OVER THE WORLD (SANTA CLAUS THE MOVIE, 1985)

“Now, all those within the sound of my voice, and all those on this Earth everywhere know that henceworth you will be called Santa Claus.” – Ancient Elf

A well-meaning film about the story of one of the most famous figures during the holiday season. Santa Claus The Movie begins with how Santa (David Huddleston) came to be, to meeting a scoundrel who doesn't know anything about the true meaning of Christmas; to helping an elf named Patch (Dudley Moore). It’s a perfect family viewing during Christmas. ‘80’s icon Sheena Easton sung the popular theme from the movie, Christmas All Over The World. A personal favorite.

IT’S CHRISTMAS ALL OVER THE WORLD
sung by: Sheena Easton

All my life, I tried to do what's right
First star I see tonight, make my wish come true
Why can't we, join hands around one tree
Let live and let it be
Make Christmas last forever

When Santa's flying in his magic sleigh
Goes all around the world in just a day
From the North Pole to the southern tip
He makes his trip with love to give away
Here him say....

It's Christmas...all over the world tonight
It's Christmas...all over the world

All my life, I learned if I was good
Did everything I should
My dreams would all come true
I can see, a special time when we
Join hands around one tree
And make Christmas last forever

When Santa's flying in his magic sleigh
Goes all around the world in just a day
From the North Pole to the southern tip
He makes his trip with love to give away
Here him say....
It's Christmas...all over the world tonight
(all over the world)
It's Christmas...all over the world
It's Christmas...all over the world tonight
(all over the world)
It's Christmas...all over the world…

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL!

LOOKING THROUGH YOUR EYES (QUEST FOR CAMELOT, 1998)

"You have reminded us that the strength of a kingdom is not based on the strength of the king, but on the strength of its people." - King Arthur

Much has been told about the Kings, Magical Sword, monsters & the so-called Camelot and the animated film from Warner Bros. a.k.a. The Magic Sword sadly doesn't give much to offer in their version of the beloved tale. An okay film for the family save for the wonderful songs written for the movie. LeAnn Rimes sung the wonderful end theme Looking Through Your Eyes in one of the romantic scenes of the film. The animated version were sung by The Corrs along with Bryan White.

LOOKING THROUGH YOUR EYES
sung by: LeAnn Rimes

Look at the sky
Tell me what do you see
Just close your eyes
And describe it to me
The heavens are sparkling
With starlight tonight
That's what I see
Through your eyes

I see the heavens
Each time that you smile
I hear your heartbeat
Just go on for miles
And suddenly I know
My life is worth while
That's what I see
Through your eyes

Here in the night
I see the sun
Here in the dark
Our two hearts are one
It's out of our hands
We can't stop what we have begun
And love just took me by surprise
Looking through your eyes

I look at myself
And instead I see us
Whoever I am now
It feels like enough
And I see a girl
Who is learning to trust
That's who I see through your eyes

Here in the night
I see the sun
Here in the dark
Our two hearts are one
It's out of our hands
We can't stop what we have begun
And love just took me by surprise
Looking through your eyes

And there are some things we don't know
Sometimes a heart just needs to go
And there is so much I'll remember
Underneath the open sky with you forever

Here in the night
I see the sun
Here in the dark
Our two hearts are one
It's out of our hands
We can't stop what we have begun
And love just took me by surprise
Looking through your eyes

LIFE IN MONO (GREAT EXPECTATIONS, 1998)

"She'll only break your heart, it's a fact. And even though I warn you, even though I guarantee you that the girl will only hurt you terribly, you'll still pursue her. Ain't love grand?" - Ms. Nora Digger Dinsmoor

Mexican Director Alfonso Cuarón's take on the timeless tale of Finn (Ethan Hawke) and Estella (Dwyneth Paltrow) brims with sensuality and romance. Based on the novel by Charles Dickens, it's a story for all ages. Supporting its theme is one of the song in the movie sung by Mono.

LIFE IN MONO
sung by: Mono

The stranger sang a theme
From someone else’s dream
The leaves began to fall
And no one spoke at all
But I can’t seem to recall
When you came along
Ingénue

Ingénue
I just don’t know what to do

The tree-lined avenue
Begins to fade from view
Drowning past regrets
In tea and cigarettes
But I can’t seem to forget
When you came along
Ingénue

Ingénue
I just don’t know what to do

Ingénue
I just don’t know what to do

LET THE RIVER RUN (WORKING GIRL, 1988)

"For anyone who's ever won. For anyone who's ever lost. And for everyone who's still in there trying." - tagline

Ranking as one of the most entertaining and intelligent films of all time, Mike Nichols' Working Girl is a winner by all means. Great storyline, inspired performances and a knockout soundtrack. It's a story of one woman's dream to be the best. Legendary Carly Simon sung the iconic theme Let The River Run for the film. The song deservedly won at the Oscars and at the Golden Globe for best original song as well the Grammys Best Song Written Specifically for a Motion Picture or for Television. It's a winner by all means.

LET THE RIVER RUN
sung by: Carly Simon

We're coming to the edge
Running on the water
Coming through the fog
Your sons and daughters

Let the river run
Let all the dreamers
Wake the nation
Come, the new Jerusalem

Silver cities rise
The morning lights
The streets that meet them
And sirens call them onwith a song

It's asking for the taking
Trembling, shaking
Oh, my heart is aching
We're coming to the edge
Running on the water
Coming through the fog
Your sons and daughters
We the great and small
Stand on a star
And blaze a trail of desire
Through the dark'ning dawn

It's asking for the taking
Come run with me now
The sky is the color of blue
You've never even seen
In the eyes of your lover
Oh, my heart is aching
We're coming to the edge
Running on the water
Coming through the fog
Your sons and daughters
It's asking for the taking
Trembling, shaking
Oh, my heart is aching
We're coming to the edge
Running on the water
Coming through the fog
Your sons and daughters

Let the river run
Let all the dreamers
Wake the nation
Come, the new Jerusalem

KOKOMO (COCKTAIL, 1988)

"When he pours, he reigns." - tagline

One of Tom Cruise's lesser known film at least to non-fans is the 1988 film about bartending. Cocktail's theme, though cheesy, is nevertheless a beat you can dance to. Sung by no less than The Beach Boys. The song was nominated at the Golden Globe for best original song and also at the Grammys for Best Song Written Specifically for a Motion Picture or for Television.

KOKOMO
sung by: The Beach Boys

Aruba, Jamaica ooo I wanna take you
Bermuda, Bahama come on pretty mama
Key Largo, Montego baby why don't we go
Jamaica

Off the Florida Keys
There's a place called Kokomo
That's where you wanna go to get away from it all

Bodies in the sand
Tropical drink melting in your hand
We'll be falling in love
To the rhythm of a steel drum band
Down in Kokomo

Aruba, Jamaica ooo I wanna take you
To Bermuda, Bahama come on pretty mama
Key Largo, Montego baby why don't we go

Ooo I wanna take you down to Kokomo
We'll get there fast
And then we'll take it slow
That's where we wanna go
Way down to Kokomo

To Martinique, that Monserrat mystique

We'll put out to sea
And we'll perfect our chemistry
By and by we'll defy a little bit of gravity

Afternoon delight
Cocktails and moonlit nights
That dreamy look in your eye
Give me a tropical contact high
Way down in Kokomo

Aruba, Jamaica ooo I wanna take you
To Bermuda, Bahama come on pretty mama
Key Largo, Montego baby why don't we go

Ooo I wanna take you down to Kokomo
We'll get there fast
And then we'll take it slow
That's where we wanna go
Way down to Kokomo

Port Au Prince I wanna catch a glimpse

Everybody knows
A little place like Kokomo
Now if you wanna go
And get away from it all
Go down to Kokomo

Aruba, Jamaica ooo I wanna take you
To Bermuda, Bahama come on pretty mama
Key Largo, Montego baby why don't we go

Ooo I wanna take you down to Kokomo
We'll get there fast
And then we'll take it slow
That's where we wanna go
Way down to Kokomo

Aruba, Jamaica ooo I wanna take you
To Bermuda, Bahama come on pretty mama
Key Largo, Montego baby why don't we go
Ooo I wanna take you down to Kokomo

IT’S MY TURN (IT’S MY TURN, 1980)

“Just when she thought she had everything right...
in stepped Mr. Wrong.” – tagline

One woman's freedom to choose who she wants to love is the central theme of the movie as well as the aptly titled song It's My Turn. Diana Ross sung her iconic song from the least known film starring Michael Douglas and Jill Clayburgh.

IT'S MY TURN
sung by: Diana Ross

I can't cover up my feelings
In the name of love
Or play it safe
For a while that was easy
And if living for myself
Is what I'm guilty of
Go on and sentence me
I'll still be free

It's my turn
To see what I can see
I hope you'll understand
This time's just for me

Because it's my turn
With no apologies
I've given up the truth
To those I've tried to please

But now it's my turn
If I don't have all the answers
At least I know I'll take my share of chances
Ain't no use in holding on
When nothing stays the same

So I'll let it rain
'Cause the rain ain't gonna hurt me
And I'll let you go
Though I know it won't be easy

It's my turn
With no more room for lies
For years I've seen my life
Through someone else's eyes

And now it's my turn
To try and find my way
And if I should get lost
At least I'll own today

It's my turn
Yes, it's my turn
And there ain't no use in holding of
When nothing stays the same

So I'll let it rain
'Cause the rain ain't gonna hurt me
And I'll let you go
Though I know it won't be easy

It's my turn
To see what I can see
I hope you'll understand
This time's just for me

Because it's my turn
To turn and say goodbye
I sure would like to know
That you're still on my side

Because it's my turn
It's my turn
It's my turn
To start from number one
Trying to undo
Some damage that's been done

But now it's my turn
To reach and touch the sky
No one's gonna say
At least I didn't try
It's my turn
Yes, it's my turn
It's my turn
It's my turn
It's my turn

IT MIGHT BE YOU (TOOTSIE, 1982)

“Look, you don't know me from Adam. But I was a better man with you, as a woman... than I ever was with a woman, as a man. You know what I mean?” – Michael Dorsey

Dustin Hofman is Michael Dorsey, an out-of-work man who in order to land a job, dresses himself and became Dorothy Michaels, a daytime soap opera star. Everything is working very well until he falls in love with his co-star who knows him as a she. Stephen Bishop sung the immortal song It Might Be You. Hands down, one of the most played songs on the radio. Every generations seems to like this song even though it was used only as the theme from the 1982 comedy classic Tootsie.

IT MIGHT BE YOU
sung by: Stephen Bishop

Time

I've been passing time watching trains go by
All of my life
Lying on the sand, watching seabirds fly
Wishing there would be
Someone waiting home for me
Something's telling me it might be you
It's telling me it might be you
All of my life

Looking back as lovers go walking past
All of my life
Wondering how they met and what makes it last
If I found the place
Would I recognize the face
Something's telling me it might be you
Yeah, it's telling me it might be you
So many quiet walks to take
So many dreams to wake
And we've so much love to make
Oh, I think we've gonna need some time
Many be all we need is time
And it's telling me it might be you
All of my life
I've been saving love songs and lullabies
And there're so much more
No one's ever heard before
Something's telling me it might be you

Yeah, it's telling me it must be you
And I'm feeling it'll just be you
All of my life
May be it's you (it's you)
May be it's you (it's you)
I've been waiting for all of my life...

IS THIS THE END (SCREAM 3, 2000)

“The way I see it, I've got no house, no bodyguard, no movie, and I'm being stalked. Because someone wants to kill me? No, because someone wants to kill you. So now, starting now, I go where you go. That way, if someone wants to kill me, I'll be with you, and since he really wants to kill you, he won't kill me, he'll kill you. Make sense?”
– Jennifer

In the third installment of Wes Craven’s take of the infamous Woodsboro murders, 'Scream' survivor Sidney (Neve Campbell) in seclusion comes out to face the Ghostface killer (or killers) who twice taunted her. Creed sung two themes for the movie and one of them is the song Is This The End. A slow rock to ease down the tension in between movie killings.

IS THIS THE END
sung by: Creed

The rage in my eyes

Could have compared to the eye of the sun
Then rain took its course
Through the hands of the son
Revenge for all time
The world is at war leaving all hope behind

So, is this the end for us my friend?
So, is this the end for us my friend?

The stains in the sky
Are there to remind us of man and his fight
When two worlds collide
One steals a life like a thief in the night
So look to the sky
He holds the keys for your life and mine

So, is this the end for us my friend?
So, is this the end for us my friend?
So, is this the end for us my friend?
So, is this the end for us my friend?

Well, as the wind rides (Well as though we rise?)
As the day breaks for the dawn
And as the moon hides the sun, oh the sun
No more sorrow
All those crying days are gone
No more sorrow, now its gone
Now it's gone
Now it's gone

So, is this the end for us my friend?
So, is this the end for us my friend?
So, is this the end for us my friend?
So, is this the end for us my friend?
So, is this the end for us my friend?

IRIS (CITY OF ANGELS, 1998)

“She said, 'what good would wings be if
you couldn't feel the wind on your face?'” – Seth

Based on the foreign film, Wings Of Desire, City Of Angels is the story of Maggie (Meg Ryan), a doctor who fell in love with an ‘angel’ Seth played by Nicolas Cage. Goo Goo Dolls sung one of their most popular songs in their career. The song was nominated as best movie song in the MTV Movie Awards.

IRIS
sung by: Goo Goo Dolls

And I'd give up forever to touch you

'Cause I know that you feel me somehow
You're the closest to heaven that I'll ever be
And I don't want to go home right now

And all I can taste is this moment
And all I can breathe is your life
'Cause sooner or later it's over
I just don't want to miss you tonight

And I don't want the world to see me
'Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

And you can't fight the tears that ain't coming
Or the moment of truth in your lies
When everything seems like the movies
Yeah, you bleed just to know your alive

And I don't want the world to see me
'Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

I don't want the world to see me
'Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

I just want you to know who I am
I just want you to know who I am
I just want you to know who I am
I just want you to know who I am

INTO THE WEST (THE LORD OF THE RINGS: RETURN OF THE KING, 2003)

“I will not say, Do not weep, for not all tears are an evil.” - Gandalf

INTO THE WEST
sung by: Annie Lennox

Lay down

Your sweet and weary head
Night is falling
You have come to journey’s end

Sleep now, and dream
Of the ones who came before
They are calling
From across a distant shore
Why do you weep?
What are these tears upon your face?
Soon you will see
All of your fears will pass away
Safe in my arms
You’re only sleeping

What can you seeon the horizon?
Why do the white gulls call?
Across the sea
A pale moon rises
The ships have come
To carry you home

And all will turn
To silver glass
A light on the water
All souls pass

Hope fades
Into the world of night
Through shadows falling
Out of memory and time
Don’t say
We have come now to the end
White shores are calling
You and I will meet again
And you’ll be here in my arms
Just sleeping

What can you seeon the horizon?
Why do the white gulls call?
Across the sea
A pale moon rises
The ships have come
To carry you home

And all will turn
To silver glass
A light on the water
Grey ships pass
Into the West

IN MY LIFE (FOR THE BOYS, 1991)

“Laughter and tears. Tragedy and triumph.
They lived it all. For the boys.” - tagline

The Divine Miss M rendered her own version of the famous Beatles ballad, In My Life. In the film For The Boys, she plays Dixie Leonard, a singer and dancer during the World War II who paired up with American entertainer Eddie Sparks played by James Caan to entertain soldiers. Though the song is pure Beatles tune, she nevertheless makes it as her own.

IN MY LIFE
sung by: Bette Midler

There are places I remember
All my life, though some have changed
Some forever, not for better
And some have gone, and some remain

All these places have their moments
With lovers and friends I still can't recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life, I love them all

But of all these friends and lovers
There is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new

Though I know I'll never ever lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life, I love you more

Though I know I'll never ever lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think of them
But in my life, I loved you more

I love you more
I love you more

I’M EASY (NASHVILLE, 1975)

“Wild. Wonderful. Sinful. Laughing. Explosive.” – tagline

An entertaining film by Director Robert Altman wherein various people interconnect through the music business in Nashville. Everyone has their story, so they say, and the climax is unforgettable. The song won at the Oscars and the Golden Globe for best original song.

I’M EASY
sung by: Keith Carradine

It's not my way to love you just when no one’s looking
It's not my way to take your hand if I'm not sure
It's not my way to let you see what's going on inside of me
When it's a love you won't be needing you're not free

Please stop pulling at my sleeve if you're just playing
If you won't take the things you make me wanna give
I never cared too much for games, and this one’s driving me insane
You're not half as free to wonder as you claim

But I’m easy, yeah I’m easy, give the word I’ll play your game
as though that’s how it ought to be, because I’m easy

Don't lead me on if there's nowhere for you to take me
If loving you would have to be a sometime thing
I can't put bars on my inside, my love is something I can't hide
It still hurts when I recall the times I tried

But I'm easy, yeah I'm easy, take my hand and pull me down
I won't put up any fight because I'm easy

Don't do me favours, let me watch you from the distance
'Cause when you're near I find it hard to keep my head
When your eyes throw light at mine, it's enough to change my mind
Make me leave my cautious words and ways behind

That’s why I’m easy, yeah I’m easy, say you want me I’ll come running
Without taking time to think, because I'm easy

IF WE HOLD ON TOGETHER (THE LAND BEFORE TIME, 1988)

“Let your heart guide you. It whispers so listen closely.”
– Littlefoot’s mother

One of the best non-Disney animation is the film, The Land Before Time. It’s about the story of Littlefoot, an orphaned young Brontosaurus who trek mountains in search of the famous Great Valley where dinosaurs can roam free. Diana Ross sung one of the best animated theme ever, If We Hold On Together. A very inspirational song as well.

IF WE HOLD ON TOGETHER
sung by: Diana Ross

Don't lose your way

With each passing day
You've come so far
Don't throw it away
Live believing
Dreams are for weaving
Wonders are waiting to start
Live your story
Faith, hope & glory
Hold to the truth in your heart

If we hold on together
I know our dreams will never die
Dreams see us through to forever
Where clouds roll by
For you and I

Souls in the wind
Must learn how to bend
Seek out a star
Hold on to the end
Valley, mountain
There is a fountain
Washes our tears all away
Words are swaying
Someone is praying
Please let us come home to stay

If we hold on together
I know our dreams will never die
Dreams see us through to forever
Where clouds roll by
For you and I

When we are out there in the dark
We'll dream about the sun
In the dark we'll feel the light
Warm our hearts, everyone
If we hold on together
I know our dreams will never die
Dreams see us through to forever
As high as souls can fly
The clouds roll by
For you and I
